2 Xbox's, 1 house game sharing

Good question. You need to set the account with Xbox Live gold subscription on the new console that you will be getting as home Xbox. Your home Xbox lets you share games and content with other people who sign in to it with their profile.

To set your account as Home Xbox, Please select System > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

But bear in mind that on your Xbox One S console, only the account with Xbox Live gold can use the subscription. On your new console where you will set the account as home Xbox, anyone who sign in to it with their profile can use it. When you say the Gold subscription is in your name, does that mean your son with One S is using your Xbox profile, or do they use there own?

I'm saying this because if all of you have your own profiles, then I suspect you have set this console as your 'Home' so that anyone who uses it can get access to Gold. Even though you don't use it yourself.

If you add another console to the mix, then things get complicated. They will still be able to use the One S (as this will still be your home console) but only you, as the subscription holder, will have access to Gold on the new console. Does that make sense?

To resolve this, you would be better letting one of your sons get the subscription on their account, setting one of the consoles as 'Home', then they can use the new one. Or the other way round, it doesn't matter.

Yes. So, if your oldest son as the subscription, make sure he sets the youngest sons Xbox as his home console. Then your youngest son will be able to share his subscription and your oldest son can use his own console as normal.

They will both will be able to access games on Game Pass, except EA Play games. This is limited to the subscription holder only. Also, your oldest son will be the only one that can access cloud gaming.

If you purchase any games, make sure your oldest son does it on his account. Then if they both want to play it, just get your oldest son to download it on your youngest sons Xbox.

Thanks for your help. So if I set my oldest up with the live subscription that's sorts out that. What about sharing games? Will I be able to have 1 farming sim and have both of them use it.

I think extended is wrong.

The true and first meaning of the account/game sharing was to a house share like 2 brothers with 2 consoles and for the parents doesnt need to buy 2 xbox live golds or 2 games. And not to people share with all their friends.

Doesnt mix the family settings with account sharing on Xbox, is not the same thing and not the same end.
