2 xboxes in one household

Hi all.

We have bought our Son the Xbox Series X for Christmas. When he sets it up on xmas day we are going to use his current Xbox 1s in the living room to use soley as a blue ray / dvd player and to watch netflix on etc.

He has had the xbox 1s from an early age so his gamer tag is linked to my email address. I’ve already looked at transferring his gamer tag to his email

address so I know thats not possible but when I intend to use his current xbox to stream netflix etc I’d rather just use my email account.

if I turn it on and log in will it log him out of his Series X? Will I need to create a new email address to use the Xbox 1s?

Ive look into this and apparantly it cannot be done. You are stuck with your first email apparantly. It seems a silly policy if you ask me

You can try changing the email on the account to his so he can use it on the XSX, and then make a new account with your email so you can use it on the 1s.

You can't get banned for using the same account on two different consoles at the same time. The system will just delete your account from the console that isn't in use.

As mentioned it is impossible to use an account on two consoles at the same time, when an account is recovered from Live the previous version is deactivated and blocked from connecting.

I'm afraid that you will need to get another Gold account. As to whether you'll be able to use your Netflix account with this new Gold one, that would depend on the terms and conditions of your Netflix package and if they let you have it active on one than
one device.

It's best to check with Netflix before you purchase another Gold subscription.

It is also doubtful that Microsoft would ever let Silver members use the Netflix app, they like to bundle everything in with Gold to make it seem better value.

Unfortunately only one person can play at one time when using one subscription. You will have to create 2 different subscriptions for your kids to play simultaneously.
