2 Xboxes 1 house cant find each other gamertag

I recently purchased a 2nd xbox so that my kids can play together but I cant get either xbox to find the other gamertag though they can both friend other people. They share a gold live subscription. The gamertag set up on the new xbox also exists as a
profile on the original xbox. Can anyone tell me what we are doing wrong??

I'm pretty sure we did that unless there is a space at the end or something. I will try again.

You might want to check the settings on the accounts. You might have it setup to where they can't be found by people that aren't their friends yet.

Please go to Xbox Online Safety to see how to check this and change the settings.

When doing a search on the console like that you have to type it in EXACTLY as it is in the system.

So for example we will use the name that your showing on your post

You would search for:

RobynOrbaker

If you search for:

robynorbaker it will come up as not found

So you would need to have them search exactly including capitalization how the gamer tag is spelled.

Spaces matter also so for example if you have the capitalization correct but put a space it will still come back as not found.

Ok, we can see that they are both signed in with different gamertagas but when we search to friend each other it says not found.

Hit the Xbox button, then move all the way left to the Sign in menu, select the profile that is signed in and you should then see the gamertag at the top of the profile that is now displayed.
