2 Xbox One's on one network

Can I please get some help on how to connect mine and my friends Xbox One's to the same network and both get Open NAT's.

So here are the stats and what is happening....

    Router: Belkin SURF N300 F9J1002au

    UPnP Enabled

    Open Ports: 53, 80, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500

I don't know what else I can do. I have port forwarded and tried automatic and manual IP on the Xbox's, tried adding a switch in between the xbox's and the router. Tried one on Wireless one on Cable, nothing.

We can barely finish a game of Destiny together before one of us gets disconnected.

The thing is the first Xbox to turn on gets and open NAT and the second gets a strict NAT and will be the one that gets disconnected.

Can anyone suggest anything short of getting a new router. Why is this now a problem. I have routed countless Xbox 360's in the day and never had any issues.

    :)

By 2 others I mean, 2 more Xbox One's. I have 3 active Xbox One's set to Instant On.

    DLNA != share support

Don't expect Xbox One to ever support accessing network shares. If one's NAS has a DLNA server, that may see support. If one's NAS is just providing shares, it is unlikely that it will ever work with Xbox One.

With two xboxes on one router you cannot use portforwarding as ports can only be forwarded to one device, but never to two or more devices simultaneously.Thats why one xbox is getting an open NAT and the second one is stuck on strict.

If wanting to use more than one console on the same network you have to use UPnP. This should give you moderate NAT on both of the consoles which usually is enough for playing online together, with the exception of CoD, where you cannot share the same game
    lobby.

If planing to buy a new router, please check at forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx that you buy a new router which is able to use upnp with two xboxes on the same network as there a few who are not able to do so.

That's the thing. I have UPnP enabled I gaurantee it. But still the same problem.

I tried DMZ and that didn't work either.

I can't find or it can't use port range triggering (Whatever that is) so I feel I am out of options.

Maybe a last chance is MAC address? suggestions?

It's only working with UPnp. Only!

Be really sure to have porttriggering, Portforwarding and DMZ disabled as all this will cause problems.

It may be also a problem with the router itself, as Belkin is pretty cheap and not very good at all.

But if this affects you only while playing Destiny there is the chance that's it's a problem with their servers as lots of people experience disconnects from the Destiny servers. What happens if you try to play different games like battlefield for example?

@Bobmcfly247 A fully compatible router should allow an open NAT on both Xboxes not moderate. If you have a moderate Nat then you have a router with crap UPnP support.

On a good router your Xbox will open a different UPnP port rather than the standard one if it's already mapped to another device. This keeps the NAT open on both. On a bad router this will fail and you get a moderate or strict Nat.

And exactly this is, what the one is NOT doing. The One sticks to its ports and is not using others, if a certain port is already in use by a different device.

My x1 does map to different ports quite often. It's my 360 that is stubborn and wont change ports.

On my router port 3074 is often mapped to a different device like my 360 or one of my PlayStations as Activision games on PlayStation also use port 3074 by default.

If port 3074 is already mapped to one of my other devices my x1 will use UPnP to open another random port keeping the nat open.

But my 360 on the other hand can't do this. If 3074 isn't available I get moderate Nat.

So it appears that different routers have different levels of compatibility.

I just wish I knew what router to get that has perfect UPnP. A router that works perfectly with all consoles.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm using a TP Link Archer C7 (version 2) router. I've tired UPNP by itself, as well as port forwarding and port triggering. The official Xbox One support page suggests I contact my ISP and get a public IP address. I'm not
sure if this is worth it if my router is the problem. Any ideas?

Are you trying to connect two Xbox One or just one? A public ip makes no difference if its one or two Ones. So if it's about one One please open a new thread as this one here is about connecting two.

    @Greven3973.

You don't say if it's for one to two consoles.

In anycase I have a TP-Link router although a different model number.

To get an open NAT on a tp-link it is essential that you use the address reservation function to reserve the IP address for the xbox. Setting a static IP address in the xboxes own settings app will stop UPnP from working.

So make sure that the IP address in the consoles network settings are set to automatic.

Then use the address reservation function in the router settings to reserve an IP address for the xbox.

Make sure UPnP is enabled and delete all port forward and DMZ settings.

Assuming your router has similar functionality to mine you NAT should be open after doing this.

Try to reset your modem and your router. and also hold the XBOX button DOWN on YOUR XBOX ONE until it completely shuts off that might give a lil help see if that might help

  14. you can ONLY use 1 of the things.

UPnP OR Port Forward OR DMZ.

What you can try is - Port Forward xbox one to Port 3074 UDP and TCP and the second XBOX to 3075 UDP and TCP. If 3074 is not free xbox can use 3075. And only these 2 Ports are needed.

UPnP or Port Trigger should also work - be sure you run the latest Firmware for your Router. If you have the newest Firmware and can´t play - you need to buy a new Router or maybe you can try if your Router can use Firmware from DD-WRT.

Port triggering is not working on most routers, as most of the forward the opened ports to the device that opened the ports.
