2 Xbox ones in same network - no chat

For Christmas we got a second Xbox one so my son and I could play destiny together. While we seem to not have issues playing, joining fires teams etc... we cannot chat and yelling across the house doesn't count.

I checked network settings and both consoles show open Nat.

I logged into the router and there is no port forwarding, dmz etc... upnp is enabled.

I have Verizon fios and am using their new quantum gateway router.

It's worked all of 1 time where we could chat. The rest of the time only one of us is allowed to chat. And the other can't even hear anyone else.

    :)

  2. Party chat not working, NAT is Open

We are having the same issue. We have 2 xbox ones in the same house. Open Nat with Dlink router and repeater. Can't play co-op games with each other and can't party chat with each other. Nothing wrong with my router because we play another game with party
chat on 2 different xbox 360s within the same house on the same network and everything works fine. These xbox ones are becoming really bad.

Network download issues from xbox servers

Network setup is hardwired from a network hub to a Nighthawk router to a cable modem. ISP is Cable One with 150 down and 5 up. There is 2 xbox ones and 2 xbox 360s on network. Both xbox ones have the same issue. Also I have hardwired my personal xbox one
directly to cable modem with the same result. Contacted Cable One support and they have stated there is nothing wrong on their end.

Do you mean in game chat or party chat? If you mean party chat then its probably just party chat being broken as usual. My advice make a skype account for both of you and use that because my buddy and I find its the only reliable voice communications on
    the One.

I can try Skype but unless the fireteam Does it too then it still doesn't resolve that part. We can't seem to get party or game chat functioning on both consoles at the same time.

This issue is happening across the boards. Friends list not populating again, party chat, game chat etc. Not working period. These simply are not NAT /LAN issues. Ive played and had good comms with all players. What I see happening more often now is being
booted out of party chats when a particular person joins. This used to not happen with this player either.

I have an Xbox One with excellent service provided by ATT Uverse. NATs open. I had support help with that? My question is Why did MS mess with chat on the ONE when 360 chat was just fine? In fact reinventing the whole how you send messages and all is horrible.
Is this party chat problem only with players on Destiny. Please fix chat.

this issue is most likely a NAT issue even though it shows as your NAT being open. almost all Gateways (modem/router combo device) devices provided by ISP's (internet service providers) cannot support multiple consoles with an open NAT. one resolution that
you could try is to perform port forwarding or a DMZ on one of the consoles and check then to see if you can get into a party with other players and into games with other players. if so then you may need to update your networking equipment to a modem and a
router that are separate. a good router would be a netgear WNDR3700 which can support multiple xbox consoles with an open NAT and have no other issues that I know of. I have one at home with 2 XB360 consoles and 3 XBone consoles on it and I have no NAT issues
at all. here is a link to the networking Hardware information forums to look at different devices and information on those devices.

Ok - Im in same boat... Bought second xbone for son for xmas.

    Specs

    2 xbones

    Sagemcom Fast 5250 Home Hub

I'm not a noob. I have reset all routers, reset xbone, restarted all systems... 100x each time setting new configuration.

With 1 bone on network - trouble free

I can either use Upnp (router supports it) or Port Forward... Both successfully - with stable system.

With 2 bones on network - ???? nightmare

Do you homework but as a principal you cannot run 2x bones with Open NAT. It simply creates an issue with the transfer of data between the bone and the router. Simply put, data traffic gets between the units get messed up and causes issues.

Tweaking DMZ is not a good idea at all. Stay clear of those options.

That leaves you with Upnp (Universal plug and play). If your router supports it, it should work. But here is what I am running into....

    1. Make sure that you have powered down you entire network and turned off feature settings systematically restarted each piece of hardware in this order.

    1. make sure to turn off uPNP on router than turn off

    2. power down network, nothing connecting to it should be on... all devices. (tv, phones, fridges, bones, etc etc)

    3. power up network

    4. access router through IP address and reconfig - Turn on uPNP, save and close

    5. now turn on your 1st xbox (hardreset), ensure you are connected to network

    6. now turn on your 2nd xbox (hardreset), ensure you are connected to network

Upnp should have detected them and open ports to support them. You should have Open NAT on both.

    that just may help.

Known issues - BF4 is F'd, as is COD, I'm not running destiny.

GTA V has no issues running party chat, game - 100% stable.
