    my wife is signed my xbox account into the upstairs xbox and she signs me in so she can play my games on the upstairs xbox. heres the problem i go downstairs to play on my own xbox and it kicks her out of her account when shes trying to play games. i dont
    want to buy two bloody copies of each game i have. what the hell is going on

    If you set the upstairs console as your Home console, she can sign into her own account and still access your games. Then you can sign in on the other console and play your games. However, you can only share the games on one console at a time, so if she
    does use both consoles she would only be able to share them on one of them.

    Hypothetically speaking, let's say a friend of mine comes over and logs in to his XBL account from my Xbox One. Since he doesn't already have an Xbox One but plans to get one in a couple weeks, would that set my console as his home console? So when he buys
    his, goes home and buys a game, would I be able to download it?

    As others have suggested delete the games from your living room xbox and set up parental control then use your same account on the new xbox so you can access all your games
