2 xbox one x, two different tvs

I have 2 xbox one x's hooked up to two different TVs in my living room. One for me one for my roommate. Each tv and xbox are on there own power strips. Both have their own dedicated hardwire connection to my router. My problem is for example... I'm playing
Apex legends, my friend is playing fortnite. I'll get tired of playing and want to shut mine off and watch some tv, while my roommate is still playing her fortnite on my other TV, I'll go and turn my xbox off and it turns them both off. Then she starts flipping
out, even though I didn't touch hers whatsoever....Now another thing, say I want to play just me alone, meaning at this point it's just my TV on, her TV and xbox are both off. I'll go ahead and turn my xbox on, and both xbox's will turn on. Not her TV mind
you , just her console. How is this possible? How do we stop from interacting with each other's consoles when one person turns there's off both turn off, and when one only wants to turn one on they both turn on? Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks...

Are you doing this with the controller or with the power button itself on the console?

honestly have never heard of this. maybe re sync controllers? or even move your console.

This is an Xbox One X.

We have tried different HDMI ports on the TV and different HDMI cables.

This is still a reoccurring issue. Usually it’s about 2-3 months between instances, though last time this happened was just two weeks ago (prior to it happening today).

I've got the Xbox one S and chose it over the X. I feel its only worth getting the X if you have a 4K TV otherwise theres not really much difference between the two.

The Xbox One X might have different settings to your TV, you might have to go to TV Settings on your Xbox One X
