2 xbox one consoles in one house

We have a family of 4 and were very disappointed when we bought an xbox one last year for Christmas that most games are only up to 2 player games. We were considering buying another Xbox one so we could play online and all 4 of us could play together. My
question is, with the family sharing, would our games be able to be played on both consoles or would we have to not only purchase a new console but re-purchase all of our games? Looking for the solution to "couch play" that this system is seriously missing.

If i have 2 consoles one for me and one for my daughter do i need 2 xbox live memberships? Consoles will be in the same house.

Sounds like whatever it is the NAT is probably set to strict for each machine. Might want to look at the NAT settings or the Port Forwarding settings on the new router.

The ability to do 4 play couch co-op is a choice made by the developers of the game in question. We can understand the frustration with many games being only 2 player, but there is a few different games that offer 4 player co-op. One of my personal favorites
that's family friendly is
Overcooked. It's a game where you have to cooperate in a kitchen setting where you have to collaborate to complete short orders like Soups and Burgers for customers. It's really fun in my opinion and great for families or parties. You can learn more about

In regards to your question about family sharing. Yes, if they're digital copies of games. If they're disc copies they won't be shareable unfortunately since the license is tied to the disc and not the account that purchased it. So in short, it depends on

You can use one subscription on both console inside the same house, set as Xbox home of the profile that own the subscription, the console used by the other user, and use the other console online with the profile that have the subscription active.

When you purchase a digital game, you are purchasing a single user license to play the game. This means that one kid can play it at a time.
