  1. 2 Xbox One Consoles, 1 Home, Same Game, HOW MANY PUCHASES?

I have a question for anyone that has an Xbox One. How does the download process work for games if you have 2 Xbox One consoles in your home and you want to download a specific game twice?

Do I need to pay for the game twice?

What I want to do is play on both consoles at the same time with the same game (COD Advanced Warfare) , in other words multiple people in my house playing 2 consoles with the same game in a party.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I called Xbox Live Support and they are very good usually but I got conflicting answers from 2 different people.

    Thanks

    :)

Not exactly, you get 2 licenses for each game. 1 for the console and 1 for the gamertag.
The Home console will have access to the games until the gamertag is setup on another console and that one set as home.

Its how people share digital games and reduce the cost of them.

    Family membership

You would need at least 2 subscriptions. With the Home setting, you can share gold on a console. So Account 1 would buy a gold subscription and set console 1 as their Home. Then they would use console 2. Another account would use console 1 and have access
to the gold. You would do the same with the other 2 console. My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One

It works essentially the same as it does on the 360. On the One, the console you have set as your Home console will be allowed to share content with all other profiles on that console. Your account would be able to access the content on any other console.
So in order for the other people in your house to be able to play the game, they have to play on your Home console.

Have your account on both systems. Have one xbox one marked as the home console and the other just needs your account on it. Download it on both systems but have the HOME system played by the person you're sharing with. Then you can play it on the other
xbox one just by logging in to your account.

Only the system marked as home can share content and games.

  7. I found the answer I was looking for VIA Twitter in regards to playing on multiple Xbox One's and not having to download the game and pay for it multiple times. Instead you pay one time.

    From Xbox Live Support:

    Digital games

You can also play games you purchased digitally through the Xbox Store on any Xbox One console, although you need to be signed in and connected to Xbox Live.

On any Xbox One console, sign in using your Microsoft account, and then connect to Xbox Live.

Say “Xbox, go to my games and apps,” or go to My games & apps from the Home screen.

Browse your collection to find the game you want to play. (Uninstalled games have dimmed tiles and prompt you to install the game before playing.)

When the game is installed, select the game from your collection, and then select Play.

You’ll always need to be signed in and connected to Xbox Live to play digital games. Learn more at About My home Xbox.

    Notes

Even though you can leave a game installed on another person’s console, they will not be able to play it unless they also own the game. Instead, they’ll be prompted to insert the disc or purchase a digital copy.

Regional restrictions may apply in some cases, as not all games are available in every country. For more information, see Frequently asked questions about Xbox One locales.

OK. I followed this post and am able to play games on my second XBOX while my family plays the same game on the first (Home) XBOX. The limitation is in this scenario only I can play the game on the second XBOX and the rest of my family plays on the Home
XBOX. My two daughters cannot play at the same game at the same time with their profiles. To work around this I purchased a Live Gold account for one of my daughters and for games they want to play, I purchase twice. This is expensive but ok.

Now, my youngest daughter wants to watch a movie we purchased on the Home XBOX under my account. We purchase all our movies under my account. While she is watching her movie, I decide to play a game on the second XBOX. This fails because it logs her (me)
off the home XBOX, and her account does not show all the movies and TV shows we purchased.

I believe the only work around for this is to stop purchasing movies on XBOX Video and instead buy them on Amazon Prime, because then my daughter can watch her movie on Amazon with her account (my amazon account) and I can play a game on the other XBOX.

This does not make sense for a Microsoft financial decision and they are basically forcing me to stop buying video content from them. Am I missing something, or have I come to the right conclusion?

I don't use Xbox Video, so I can't say for certain that that is how it works, but it does sound like everything is working as intended, so you have come to the right conclusion. Unfortunately, when it comes to going digital, you are bound by the company's
    licensing rules.

So based on what wyvern said, if me and my girlfriend want to play say pvz or Titanfall or Evolve together we need two xbox ones, two gold accounts and just one digital copy of the game?

If this the case i am gonna pick up another X1 as we both already have gold accounts and i bought every game since lunch digitally
