2 Xbox Live Accounts, Wanting to Deleted 1 and Change Email On The Other??

I have 2 Xbox Live accounts and BlockABoots, is the really old account and not used anymore BUT has my main email address attached to it, BlockABoots is my current active account but has a @passport.com email attached to it
and so i cannot got email notifications about my Xbox Live account as @passport email address cant receive emails for some reason!??. I am wanting to remove this email address from the old Xbox Live account and use it for my current Xbox Live account (BlockABoots)
and the completely delete my old xbox live account ()

How can i got about changing emails on Xbox Live accounts, im guessing i might have to make a new email address just for this purpose and change the email from my old xbox account () to this newly made up email account, and then that should
free my main email address from the older xbox account () to use on my current xbox account (BlockABoots). Is this correct as i cant see an option to change email addresses at all?

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on Xbox.com

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

How to Change your name, address, phone number or email on your console.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

In case you want to change the billing name on your Xbox LIVE account, go to Xbox.com

Here are some additions to the first response if indeed your email account has been deleted or canceled.

Console steps: Change your account address, email, or phone number

1.On your console, sign in using your Xbox Live gamertag.

2.Go to Settings, and then select Account.

3.Go to Your Information, and then select Billing Information.

4.Enter your Microsoft account password, and then select Sign In.

5.Edit your billing account information and then select Done.

Computer Steps:Change your account address, email, or phone number

1. Go to www.xbox.com

2. sign in using your email address and password associated to your Microsoft account.

3. select My Acount just below your gamer tag

4. Select Billing Contact Information.

5. Repeat #2

6. Under Email change the email associated to your account.

7. Select save.

All done.

Note: the email address that you change it to will need to be a valid/active email address.

This should solve your problem.

First setup a new email. Next log onto Xbox.com support and phone/chat with a MS account specialist. After a few questions to confirm your identity a new email account can be linked.

Ok i have tried to follow the step in the link above, when i move my old xbox live account () to a newly created Microsoft account that changes fine but when i tried and tie my current xbox live account (BlockABoots) to the Microsoft that
WAS tied to the account it says that the Microsoft account is still tied to another Xbox Live account. Any ideas why i get that error message?

 

Hmm not really, normally that should work just fine.

Do you use that ms account that wad tied on any other device like Windows 8 or Windows phone? If so then that could automatically create a new account?

You can also try to see what happens when trying to download a profile with that ms account to see what profile is connected...

 

Hmmm, well i created a new email account just for this purpose and have managed to change over the email account for this very xbox live account im using now to type this (), so in theory the email i want to use for my current and main Xbox
Live account (BlockABoots) should be free correct??. I have tried to change this over via the 360 and once i have confirmed the details that i want to swap emails accounts i get the following message,

"Sorry, we cant change your Microsoft account right now. for more info, go to Xbox.com/AccountSwap."

But heres the odd thing, if i try and sign into this very forum using my main email address, the very one im trying to assign to my main Xbox Live account, is start putting me through the setup process of tying the email address to an xbox live account,
but if i follow that process through to the end then it will automatically assign me a generated Xbox Live name to that email account wont it??.

So the email address does appear to be untied from any Xbox Live account, but for some reason its not allowing me to tie it to my current Xbox Live Account. I read about a 30 day period or something, is this whats occurring here, that i have to wait 30 days
before i cant move the email account over?

 

Just to check when was that other profile downloaded to the console or are there still any funds/ currency on it? If it was less then 30 days or if there are funds on it that could be the cause. Also check if all accounts and security details are correct
and verified on that Ms account at
http://account.live.com

And yes doing the setup process will generate a new gamertag and you do not want that.



If all is correct and should allow it to be moved,but still fails the best thing to do is to contact Xbox Support, they should be able to find the cause and possibly help you correct it. To coontact Xbox Support use Contact Us | Xbox Support

 

I believe there is like £0.83 left on my main Xbox Live account (BlockABoots) the one im want to tie my main Microsoft account to, if this is the cause of the issue how can i remove all credits from this account, as i doubt this is any content on the market
place that is 83p.

I had to redownload the account to the console about 4 weeks ago as i move my account to a usb stick and back again. There is security setup for both accounts so that all seem to be ok as well

 

Ok have connacted support and they have told me there is a 30 day cooling off period between removing email accounts from xbox live accounts. So that why im getting the error message, as its only been a few days, after 30 days i should be able to move it
fine after that time

 

You can only move an account once every 30 days, but I didn't think you would encounter that issue, since you only have to move an account once, but I could have misunderstood. Let's hope all will work properly after those 30 days.

Ok, its been over a month now, and i was final able to switch my account email over so BlockABoots is now my main account with my main email, so CommendedFlyer2 is now more, YAY!!!
