2 Xbox consoles and 1 gold live account

My parents aren't together so I live in two different houses and at each house I have an Xbox One. I'm curious to how it works, if at all, with my single live account. Like can I use the one account on both consoles and have access to all my digital games
and what not. If someone could help I'd greatly appreciate it.

What you are talking about is called home gold, he'd have to be playing on the same console as the account with gold for it to work. His best bet is to just get his own gold membership and not have to worry. They're on sale on Amazon currently.Click to expand...

Not exactly. If Brother 1 has Xbox Live, and sets his home console to Brother 2s, then both would be able to access Xbox Live. Brother 1 because his GT is the one with online access, and Brother 2 because of the home Gold.

Thats what I was doing for a while with a friend of mine. I didnt bother buying my own Xbox Live for about a year since her profile was on my Xbox One and set to Home.

How to Join Xbox LIVE

This is the final step before you start enjoying the most amazing entertainment experience on Xbox LIVE.

The process is free and easy to follow.

You only require an valid email address and a high-speed internet connection.

There are two Membership levels available: Free and Gold. You can read more about what you get with each membership level.

Before proceeding, confirm the following:

If you have a Zune or Games for Windows LIVE account, it means you already have an Xbox LIVE account! All you have to do is to download the account to your Xbox 360 console, sign in and start enjoying the Xbox LIVE experience.

If you have a Microsoft account, you can use it for your Xbox LIVE account.
Note: "Microsoft account" refers to what was formerly "Windows Live ID". It is the email address and password you need to sign into Microsoft services (including Xbox LIVE).

This means that if you already have a Messenger or Hotmail account, you automatically have a Microsoft account.

So, during registration for Xbox LIVE, if you are asked for an email address, enter your Microsoft account.

If you don't have a Microsoft account, you can sign up for a free account on your computer, or during the signing in process for Xbox LIVE.

If you decide to go for Gold Membership, you should have your credit card information ready before proceeding with the process of signing up for Xbox LIVE.

Steps to follow

1) On your controller, press Guide then select Join Xbox LIVE.

2) Follow the instructions on the screen on how to sign up for Xbox LIVE.

Note: Make sure that you enter your correct date of birth when signing up. This will be used to determine whether you get a child account or an adult account. Once the account is created, you cannot change the date of birth.

Join Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack

With the Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack, your family is given four 12-month Gold Memberships for less than the price of two. If you are interested, just select Family Gold on the Subscription selection screen.

You might be using a child account, or the Gold Family Pack does not apply to your region.

ok so here is how it works

1. No matter what console your profile is signed into you should always have access to play/download any digital content that was purchased with that profile. so in your situation all you would have to do is sign in with the same profile.

Now where the game/gold sharing comes in is if there is any other profiles on the consoles that you want to allow to play your digital content and or use your gold.

You can set ONE console at a time as your home console and any other profile on that console can then play your digital games and use your gold without you being signed in at the same time.

Now you can only change what console you have set as your home console FIVE times a year.

I would like to confirm what Brad just said above. account 1(which has live gold subscription) sets up xbox#1 as the home console. and account 2 is set up as the main account for xbox#2 but the home console is xbox#1. if account 1 is signed in on xbox
#2 and account 2 is signed in on xbox #1. will xbox #1 will be able to have access to live gold? I hope I explained my question well enough.

Ok first to explain it

Lets call the primary account account 1 with gold and games and dlc

And the second account account 2 that wants to play coop etc whatever

Console 1 is the home console

And console 2 is visiting console

Console 1 Account 1 makes console 1 home and both account 1 -2 can use dlc and gamea and gold on console.1

On console 2

Account 1 must sign into live to use dlc and games at all times

Account 2 does NOT have gold on console 2 as ita on console 1 you have a limit of 10 switches per year gamepass isnt shared only the gold part of ultimate is with one gold only one can be roaming

Keep in mind an profile can only signed in on one place at a time so there Must be two profiles for them to play together

Based on what you described earlier, Account 1 owns all the content. So, with that in consideration:

Anyone who signs into Xbox #1 can play any content that Account 1 owns and use its Gold subscription, even if Account 1 is signed in elsewhere.

When Account 1 is signed into Xbox #2, anyone can play that content or use that subscription, but if Account 1 signs into another console, even Xbox #1, that access on Xbox #2 is lost.

If Account 2 wants to be able to access Xbox Live Gold features, it will either need to (1) sign into Xbox #1 or (2) have its own Gold subscription on Xbox #2.

You would need at least 2 subscriptions for 3 consoles. You can only share gold on 1 console at a time, the Home console. So if you have Account 1, Account 2, and Account 3. Account 1 could have gold and sets Console 1 as it's Home console, all 3 accounts
can share gold on that console. Account 1 can then sign into any other console and still use gold because it's tied to that account. Account 2 or 3 would need to have gold and set one of the other consoles as their Home console in order to share gold on that
console. Then either of the 2 gold accounts can use the 3rd console.

It sounds like you moved the Live account, which had Xbox Live Gold and your various games, to Xbox #2 and set that new console as the Live account's Home Xbox. If that is the case, then users on Xbox #1 would not be able to access that content unless the
Live account was signed into Xbox #1.

You should also verify which account has the Xbox Live Gold subscription. On the Microsoft account page, look at Services & Subscriptions for each account (Live and Gmail) and see which has the subscription.
