2 wireless adapter's not working

I have 2 xbox wireless adapters for 2 pc's in my house after changing some fans on my partners pc hers stop working no [no light or no noise to say a device had be put in to the computer] we then tried mine in her pc the same thing happened so we try it in mine the same nothing was working and now the one from mine doesn't work either, have uninstalled the device to try and re-install but nothing comes up, the pc's don't recognise any of them, are they broken or is there a fix for this?

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

We understand that you need help with your 2 Xbox wireless Adapters that it won't work on the both PCs that you have there.

We do have a recommended troubleshooting on the Xbox Support page. Here are the steps:

1. Go to Device Manager.
2. Select Network adapters > Wireless Adapter for Windows.
3. Select Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows to bring up the Properties window.
4. Select the Power Management tab.
5. Select Allow this device to wake the computer, and then select OK.

Yes the Elite Series 2 controller should work fine with the wireless adapter.

Gabriel can you try disconnecting the wireless adapter and open the app?
If that works, connect the wireless adapter with the app opened.

By the way, is this wireless adapter the Xbox Wireless adapter? Or is a Bluetooth adapter?

Let's make sure your wireless hardware is working. Here's how:

1.Press the Guide button on your controller.

2.Go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

3.Select Network Settings, and then select the name of your wireless network.

4.If prompted, enter your wireless password (if required), and then select Test Xbox LIVE Connection. If you receive a connection error, scroll to the bottom of this page and click No.

Note If your are prompted to connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter, then the internal Wi-Fi is not working and the console needs repair. Start the repair process online

External wireless adapter

1.Attach your Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of your console. Learn how
