2 Headsets not Working.

I have had 2 headsets break via the same method, what i have done is, by accident mute the headsets, then turned off the console. Then when i turn the console on again, everything to do with the headset works but i am unable to talk through the mic. i have
also read on other sites and forums that this is a known issue and has happend to a lot of other people.

Why worthless headsets xbox?

Xbox Why do you produce Weak and useless headsets and its written on ém "xbox live" so it must be the best headset for the xbox live? Just saying i got 2 of them and they stopped working like each one took 2 months maybe? then stopped working and issues
come ,you can't hear and you can talk or the opposite . Please make better headsets these headsets are worthless . Who say go buy other different headset not the original its good but expensive a little bit and i don't have experience with headsets thanks.

Xbox Headset microphone not working on 2 headsets

It was a brand new XO One headset by Turtle Beach. It came with a new adapter and the microphone does not register on that either.

I have tried a 3rd controller now and still no luck. I have reset the console, tried signing out of my profile and back in. I have turned off Kinect also.

Interestingly, when I unplug the microphone I get a "sorry we couldnt detect a mic" in Party chat. The moment I plug it back in the message disappears but the sound is still not being detected by the microphone.

I am getting really frustrated with this and all I have had back from MS so far is "reset to factory default". I am sorry but thats a last ditch attempt to fix a known issue. There has to be a bug somewhere that MS have not squashed.

Its hard to believe that all the others having the same problems as myself are not related.

Any further assistance would be appreciated.

Same bro. I was able to talk yesterday, but today nothing works. Even sending voice messeges doesnt work.

Tried 2 different headsets one is an MS authorized chat headset. The first headset was working till about 3 weeks ago, it works fine on other devices. Definitely not a headset issue

If you have another headset (even a regular wired headset that comes with an Xbox, or a plain hands-free headset for an old cell phone) you can try that. If headset 2 also has the loose connection problem, then you know it's your controller at fault. If
headset 2 works, then try another controller. If controller 2 also has the loose connection problem then you know it's your headset's wire at fault.

i have a hyperx cloud 2 headset that is wired. it has nothing to do with the headset though. it works good on all other devices

So after some research it appears that the hyper X cloud 2 headset doesn't work with the new controller 3.5mm port

This headset is arguably the best vs cost headset available.
