2 Gamertags under one account

It is completly normal. It is for people to look at you past username and still know who you are. DO NOT RESET YOUR CONSOLE, IT IS NOT NEEDED!

According to the explanation you have provided, I believe your console might need either a network reset or just a system refresh. Therefore, you will only need to follow those simple troubleshooting steps that I will provide you with and your issue should be fixed.

The following troubleshooting step will help you clear out your MAC address:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

Another step that you can try to resolve the issue, would be to remove and re-add your account. In order to do that please go to: settings> account> remove accounts> remove your account.

Note => Please make sure that you remember the password for your account because you will need to sign in again.

If the issue still persists after going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 10-15 seconds plug all your cables back in and then restart your console.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

Make sure that email#2 is not logged in on any devices as a Microsoft Account except on your Xbox console as it may automatically generate a gamertag. After moving the gamertag under email#2, you can contact Xbox Support to check if there is no more gamertag
under email#2 so you can proceed moving gamertag under email#1 to email#2.

You can not have 2 gamertags under one email.

If you logged into your new console and it gave you a different gamertag then the other gamertag would be under a different email address.

If you still have the old console you can log into your account on that one and if it is a xbox one you can go into settings and under the account tab go to sign in security and passkey and it will show you the email associated with that gamertag.

If you do not have access to the old console you can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them your gamertag and if they can verify the ownership of the account they can give you the email that would be associated with the
account.

You can not have 2 different accounts under one email for this exact reason.

If you Know the gamertag for the original account you can contact xbox support by going to support.xbox.com/contact-us give them the gamertag and if they can verify ownership of the account they can give you the email address associated with that gamertag.
