2 controllers for 2 players minecraft

Hi my 7 year old has an xbox one digital and is getting on very well with it, he bought another controller so he could play 2 player on Minecraft with his friend but we cannot figure out how to do this. Both controllers are wireless, one is contected
but the other just flashes. Do we need a lead or is there something easy that I'm missing? Any help please

You need to have a HDTV and a HDMI cable for your xbox.

1. Start Minecraft when you've logged on with your first controller.
2. Enter your desired world. Pause the game.
3. Turn on and sync your other controllers if they haven't been connected before. (optional)
4. Log in those controllers and press Resume Game.

Your television screen should be split into two or four parts depending on how many controllers are connected.

Hello, I've read your question, and I see you're having a problem. The Xbox Ambassadors are here to help!

All you have to do is pair the other controller with the Xbox on which you wish to play. To do so hold the controller so that you are looking at the top of it, there will be a round button with three curved lines. Press that button and you will notice the
Xbox highlighted button in the middle of the controller will flash, after pressing that button press the same one on the front of your Xbox underneath the main power button. It is located underneath the main power button slightly to the left of it about 7oclock
underneath the front lip. When you push the two, they basically communicate to link the controller. you'll know the controller is connected when the Xbox light in the middle of the controller is not flashing anymore but solid. This controller is now paired.
press the Xbox button in the middle once again the select account of which you would like to sign in with it.

There should be a small bottom on the xbox controller and also a small bottom the front face of the xbox one.press both at the same time and have controller close to xbox to connect.once connected,and playing on a minecraft world.the player who isnt connect
needs to press start on their controller to appear in the world...hope this helped
