2 controllers, 1 right-stick drift, 1 left stick broke!

Hi,

I have one xbox controller (for my 1st XBO i bought about 2 months after it came out). about 3 months ago the right stick on the controller started drifting up. I've cleaned the stick with alcohol, pulled it up, pushed it in, wiggled it around...and it still
drifts. So I had bought a second XBO (Master Chief edition) about a year ago as a backup. It never got used. So I switched controllers and synced the MCE and started using that controller. I've been using it for 3 months and was scrolling through the menu
last night and the damn left stick broke! While scrolling through the menu?? Anyway, it is still encased within the body, but you can tell it was broken at the base or something because it just wiggles around like the Cookie Monster's eye, and doesn't actually
manipulate the ball-joint or whatever. So, one craps out, and the other is clearly a cheap piece of ****. The irony is that the black controller (my first XBO) doesn't seem broken, it just seems stuck. And the white one (sold as the Master Chief Edition),
which is supposedly made specifically for shooters, is the one that broke while in the menu!

As I've said, I have TWO XBOs, and had my sights set on Scorpio. But I'm really, really not happy about having two controllers that don't work. I don't plan on paying $75 for a new controller every 3 months. For the one that is stuck drifting, I have looked
at the XBOX forum (Xbox One Controller Drifting Up) where others are having this issue. I've taken all the steps mentioned there,
but nothing has worked. What can I do about this?

Xbox Elite Controller thumbstick drift

same.

my 1st elite: crash gumi grips. send back to service, but i buy a new one for this 2 week. Try this new: right stick drift to right...

ok, my 1st elite came back, try this. left stick drift to right (fresh new controller from ms service)

ok i sent back this 2 broken Elites.

1-2 week done, get 2 new fresh Elites... tested... both new Elite's (my 3rd and 4th) left sticks drift to right...

my last 5 Elites broken, 3 fresh from Xbox Support. Thats a big joke.

Xbox One Controller, left stick faulting!!!

I have two controllers BOTH with drift issues. The one left thumb-stick drifts upwards and the other one has a right thumb-stick drift issue that drifts upward.

Like what the heck am I suppose to do. #SMH

Sorry to hear about the troubles you're having with your controllers. Unfortunately for the issues you describe replacing the controller is going to be your best option unless you're still within warranty, If you're still within warranty you can set up a
repair/replacement here.

Ahhh the dreaded stick drift, it was the right stick for me, it finally took my day 1 controller from me...

Always disliked clicking in a stick for sprint, so one of my Elites paddles is always mapped to the left stick click.

Performed some more checks using the controller app and although it was aiming right which is why I thought it was the right stick it actually turns out the left stick has the issue drifting right.

It's only slight but seems to stick like that 1 in every 3 moves of the stick. The app at least shows me what was happening.

Hi there!

That's odd that your left stick seems to only drift in the Hitman games . Does the right stick drift as well? I'm assuming that controls the camera and aim.

I recommend opening up the Xbox Accessories app and then go into the Configuration page for your Elite controller. From here scroll over to Left Stick to get into the sensitivity graph. This page will give you a visual representation of the input your controller
is receiving. You can notice from here if your left stick is drifting in general and not just in those games. It's possible that the in game sensitivity settings make it more noticeable then any other games if the stick is in fact drifting after the stick
goes back to it's original position after being pressed.

To compensate you can make a controller configuration profile for the Hitman games and set the left stick to Smooth or Delayed to have some more resistance on how far the controller inputs go. Play around with the slider and choose a setting that best resists
the controller drift. You can set it to Slot 1 or 2 and switch to this profile whenever you play Hitman.
