2 consoles, one live membership?

Hi, I understand that only one live gold membership is needed (which I have) for a household with 2 consoles?

So why then, when trying to have the 2 join in a roblox game would it say that gold is required?

If i have 2 consoles one for me and one for my daughter do i need 2 xbox live memberships? Consoles will be in the same house.

well yes and no

One person has to be gold and then set his home console and share gold on the non gold console

Your profile won't have gold except forgot the one console that is designated as home

However the gold profile would have all gold benefits and can have to be signed in at live to use his dlc

The account that has a Gold membership should be set as Home on one console where it can share the membership and digital purchases. That account can then use the other console to play online as well.

Hi,

Yes, it's possible to have 2 accounts with Xbox LIVE Gold on the same console. You'll have to pay for each account you wish to have a gold membership.

This process will change with the Xbox One where only one account needs to have a gold membership and then any account that signs into that console (or accounts that you make that are free) will automatically have a gold membership while signed into that Xbox
One console.

so my Xbox live has ran out and instead of paying for me and my bros is there a way that we can share one Xbox live membership on 2 separate accounts on two separate consoles ? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

If you are both on an Xbox One then the answer is yes. Simply set the account that has the Gold membership as Home on the second console and the membership will be shared to any other tags on that console. The same applies to games as well

Even if the account would never be logged in it's just there for restriction purposes, so I would need to get 2 Xbox Live memberships one for each console is that right?

On the Xbox One you share one membership as long as the they label this console their home console. Now the sharing of gold membership on the Xbox One console is limited to just the One. If your son decides to also play the 360 still and wants to play on
live you will need to continue to purchase a live membership after it expires. As long as you migrate his Gamertag correctly to the new console, everything will transfer as well.

So again. Yes everything will transfer when you sign on to the correct account on the Xbox One console. You will have access to share the gold membership on the Xbox One console. If you want to use the 360 still each person will need to have a separate gold
membership in order to access live.
