2 Billion Dollar on Minecraft and no love for Street Fighter 5 ?!?!

This really confuses the heck out of me...I can understand Minecraft has a larger install base, but I didn't buy XBOX ONE for Minecraft.... I brought it because I know Microsoft would be a safe bet for big third party title cuz they got the $$$.

So what the heck just happened with Street Fighter being a lifetime exclusive on the other platform.

Well, just pick one, do your research and buy it basically.

 

It's absurd Microsoft allow that Sony had exclusivity on Street Fighter 5.

Microsoft strongly failed
to allow Sony
acquired the exclusive
Street Fighter 5 for
PS4.

This is not a foul to warn
Microsoft not to neglect the
Japan. It has been said
countless times here to Microsoft
buying Capcom,
Tecmo, Sega and
Square-Enix and neutralize
once the Sony
in the market for games.
But Microsoft prefers to
do the opposite and
make the stupidity of
making a billion-dollar purchase
of a company
totally irrelevant to
the culture of games such as
Mojang producer of Minecraft.
With the money spent on
the Mojang,
Microsoft could have bought Capcom,
Tecmo, Sega
and Square-Enix and
still had money.
Now the owners of
Xbox One will have
to live with the humiliation
of not having Strret Fighter
5 for Xbox One
because the game is
exclusive to the PS4.

Pill Spencer failed
for not giving due weight
to the classic games
produced in Japan.

 

Capcom just lost out on a huge install base. Their loss. They'll regret it because they are not doing so well.

Sony made a play. Good for them. That's how this works. They make some moves then MS makes some moves then Nintendo etc.

 

Street Fighter a lifetime exclusive? No, I don't think so... Street Fighter 5, yes, but the franchise, no.

 

How do we know capcom even made an offer to Microsoft? If they didn't, what is MS supposed to do exactly?

 

Send a hit squad at Capcom headquater.

 

Street fighter does not have much merchandise, while minecraft is huge that's the difference.

 

SF5 is the same game it was years ago nothing new for sony let them have it we have one of the best selling games EVER

You can't have them all and if MS did they would just get slammed for buying everything and poor old Sony is the victim. If the game is that important go buy a PS4 when the game actually releases.

 

Minecraft is actually worth the money to ms while SF isn't. It's business man.

I'm a long time SF fan so I was a bit bummed but life goes on. I mean we don't even know if itll be any good yet or even that different from 4.

 

What fOOx said, Minecraft is huge. It's hard to miss it on Youtube. While older peps may not want to play the game, I think it's a smart idea for M to have acquired the game. Cert testing normally takes 2 weeks but for Xbox 1 Microsoft got cert testing done
in half that time. There must be some big peps at Microsoft who love the game too. Even my friends uncle and grand parents play it ;D

Sure Minecraft isn't just what Xbox is all about. But the game is huge and popular culture and social impact. In a major NZ newspaper, there was a Minecraft article which took up an entire newspaper page. I've seen peps in my city holding Minecraft balloons,
or dressed up in Minecraft costumes and masks. When a game has this high level social impact, it's like a strategic move for them to acquire the game.

Not having Street fighter bothers nuthing to me. I don't live in 1994? 95? Can't remember cuz Its not important to me nor am I a gamer that competes in this tripe...Cheers...

 

Ooop, somebody doesn't know how cooperate greed works. Essentially my dear sir, Capcom had the choice to make for both consoles (No they are not broke) and wait and see what kind of profit they got, or get a handout from Sony that would cover part of their
production costs and earn them instant gratification. They chose the latter because they've been haemorrhaging money, and this was instant profit. But the joke is on them, because Capcom will henceforth be in hot water with Xbox One owners, and when they bring
out their next multi-plat and say "All Xbox One owners Welcome!" quite a few people will tell them where to go.
