    1TB Seagate expansion casing issues on boot-up


    Hey guys,

    I have an XSX and I wasn’t having any issues until yesterday when I received my 1TB external expansion card. I plugged it in and left it in there with no issues.

    However, as I turned off my console or rebooted it, I noticed that it would sometimes crash right on the reboot. As soon as the logo appears it would crash and automatically reboot again with no crash the second time. It never happened before inserting the Expansion card as far as I can tell.

    It doesn’t crash all the time, I’d say 1 out of 5 times. I tried removing it for now to see if it ever does it again.

    I formatted the card as soon as I put it in the Xbox also.

    Anyone have that issue?

    Edit: and I meant causing not casing.

    Getting this issue swell with a Seagate 1TB Expansion Drive and a Sandisk 32gb USB pen.

    Can't even watch a 45min episode without getting the "device is unavailable" error 3 or 4 times.

    Xbox 360 won't boot with USB external hard drive connected

    I have the same problem with my Seagate 1tb drive also. Just unplug during boot up, after the dash come up plug it back in and it will work fine.

    I think what is happening is the 360 is trying to read and index all the files on on the 1TB drive during boot up and being such a large drive takes awhile and bogs the system down, if you unplug it while the screen is frozen the boot will continue.

    My Xbox Series X keeps crashing on start up?

    Do you have usb drives and the Seagate expansion ssd? That is apparently causing an issue with a one time boot loop. I tested on 2 units with 2 Seagate ssd proprietary drives and 2 western digital 5 tb blacks. Issue is consistent and recreatable with
    that combo.
