Which PC software are you referring to? We support Xbox Play Anywhere titles and the Xbox app here, but outside of that it would be best to reach out to the game or software publisher.

If you go to xbox.com on your PC then on the main page click on the word support and look for contact us or contact support and you will get the number for your area. They can guide you over the phone through the steps for set up while you speak to them,
and they usually can solve the problem over the phone for you.

My apoligies i forgot they changed the format on xbox.com when you get to the main page click on support then click on xboxlive then click on can't connect to xbox live solution that will guide you through the steps for wireless and for ethernet If you
still have problems their is a number for your area you can ring just search for it i hope this helps you out.
