1st Gen Xbox One Constantly Freezes. Is it hardware or just old and needs to go?

I also own the first gen xbox one and have run into the same problem. I would suggest using the instructions on https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/troubleshooting/game-freeze-solution. Keep
in mind that the first gen xbox one isn't the newest console on the block and that these fixes may only be temporary if they work for you. Ultimately, it may be time to invest in some new hardware.

Thank you all so much for the awesome and great advise. It was definitely put to work to find out truley what going on with it. Well my warrantie fataly went out the window when some fanblades broke. But was a while back i had to repair it myself due to
my living sitch,money and yada yada. so long story short I opend, cleaned, and also checked for more damge no burnt anything jus years of collected dust and was visible that the fanblade deecided to share all its glory wth the coil below. Haha. .. I mean🤯

so after i repaired it, it worked awesomely. So yrs go by from 2016 to now since then. I recently had to do away with the outer protective shell. It was falling apart. I cleand it up again veiwd all sod points &again nothing noticeable. I recenty received
an NZXT shell for pc it has one lg fan an 4 small. I mounted it in and now it breaths wel but in conclusion it just comes down to the simple fact of replacing it with the worlds best and latest but untill it comes out my original xbox one will wrk just gotta

Ps I apologize and would like to say that during the times it broke down The only resources i had was my brain and two hands, wasnt close to anything ware i lived. So i really needed to fix it or my adhd drive me mad, Im sry i brought that into discution.
I no way moded, i simply put in a pc shell with fans on seperate pwr sourc3

The disk may input problems but make sure a ehernet cord is inserted for high quality also making sure no apps or open may help, I hope I helped

If its like the OG launch style Xbox One, then you may want to get an Xbox One S like someone already mentioned. But it could be the hardware because it is kind of old. Make sure to check for any updates that could be done, also go ahead and maybe clear
up storage, and the local storage cache... that way you can lighten the load on it. Theoretically it could be working too hard and it needs better internet, a new fan, or more memory or something. There's a thousand things that could be wrong but I would just
recommend checking the troubleshooters other people have provided.

How often do you run into these problems with the console freezing, is it just happening while on the dashboard or more while on games and apps?
