15 Character Gamertag

I think that its unfair that you can’t have a 15 character gamertag despite others having one. All I would like is the opportunity to change my gamertag so that it is 15 characters long. I know the gamertag is unique without a doubt but obviously i didn’t
have chance to create it in time. Is there any way an exception can be made because i just don’t see how its fair when 15 characters was once available but now it isn’t despite me knowing the 15 character gamertag will be unique.

(sorry ranted on a bit just annoyed microsoft did this)

Update: If I try a gamertag with 14 or less characters, it seems to move forward. However the character limit is supposed to be 15 and the new gamertag I want has 15 characters. :-(

Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about this. At least we have more characters than some of the other systems

Partially true. Gamertags can have up to 12 (or 13) characters, if they choose one that's already taken, then they will be assigned a suffix.

If you have access to an Xbox 360, you can change your GT there and still use the "old" system which allows for 15 characters. This is the only workaround I know of that will get you past the 12 character limit, but unfortunately you would have to pay
the $10 name change fee if you have already taken advantage of the free name change.
