    144hz Xbox series X issue

I've been using the LG 34GL750-B monitor for a while now on my PC and Xbox one X

I've now go the Xbox Series X and I have noticed that it will not run at 120hz regardless of image quality (4k or 1080p)

The monitor has HDMI 2.0 which I believe should support 120hz @ 4K

But I can't select allow 120hz as an option, it's just greyed out.

Is this an issue with the fact of my monitor being an ultrawide? it has a 2560x1080 display which I believe shouldn't cause an issue?

I'm using the supplied cable from the Xbox Series X, would a higher quality high speed cable fix this?

I manage to run my PC over display port at 144hz without issue on the same monitor.

I've seen on REDDIT that a few other people are having issues with the Series X and ultrawide support.

    :)

Xbox Series X - No 120HZ option on any resolution.

I have same issue but with my Acer Nitro VG271 144Hz. Xbox series X won’t run at 120Hz 1080p. That must be problem with xbox series x because works perfect with Asus RX480 8GB (144Hz 1080p HDMI2.0). I am very dissapointed. 60hz is a joke.

    144hz?

Thank you again, last question, will the xbox series X be able to support 144hz for monitors?

You say you can't select it regardless of image quality and that you have an ultrawide 1080p monitor, therefore the maximum resolution you can enable on your Xbox Series X is 1080p.

Unless your monitor has a built in 4k/2k downscaler to 1080p you shouldn't be able to select 4K or 1440p.

As for the refresh rate, you should be able to select 120Hz when in 1080p mode.

    Hi Joe.

Due to bandwidth, you will need HDMI 2.1 to output 120fps.
