I've a Dell S2417DG that's 1440p yet my Xbox one x runs fine for a minute or two then it goes black.

It's the only thing that acts this way with it.

    Any help appreciated.

    ****EDIT****

    Thanks for the replies.

Turns out my Xbox is just dodgey and sent it for repair. Every one of my friends Xbox one X work fine on the monitor.

    :)

1440p not yet supported, my monitor is still only using 1080p but my monitor actually supports 1440p.

  3. 1440p still outputs games at 4k

    Hi guys,

Using the new 1440p setring, the dashboard is set to 1440p but 4k games are still getting output to my monitor at 4K.

Is there a way to force 1440p down scaling?

    Thanks!

What are the display settings on the Xbox One?

How is it connected to the console?

You've said it's the only thing that gives you problems - what else do you use it for?

    Hi Goatsaresuper,

Thanks for letting us know about this, check out this article on
Troubleshooting a Blank TV screen or Monitor while your Xbox One is on.

Also, some monitors and televisions can have issues accepting input from the Xbox One X at resolutions higher than 1080p so it may be good to check with the manufacturer of the monitor to see if there are any settings that could be adjusted to better display
    the console's image.

    Hope this helps, thanks again!

  6. Currently 1080p. Hdmi.

Of I set it to 1440p it stays for about a minute then goes black.

I use it for Xbox, PC, dvd, blu ray

  7. It really shouldn't be a problem. Native res is 2560 x 1440 @ 60hz through the HDMI and that's what Xbox One X supports.

Plus, if it can work minutes at a time, why would it just go black all of a sudden? The link you sent was not helpful unfortunately but thanks for the reply.

Could you tell us what your video output settings are on the console? If set manually to 1440, could you try auto detect instead?

  9. I've tried both auto and manual. 1440 does show up when it's set to auto.

What is happening is your Xbox one x is programmed to run off of 4k 2160p or 1080p . If your on auto detect 1440p will see if its compatible at that particular refresh rate. If it cannot use it at that setting it will drop to the 1080p setting. Here's some
information on the resolutions the Xbox x has available and some trouble shooting to see if you can get it to display.

  11. Thanks for the reply.

The 4k is sub sampling (down sampling or whatever you want to call it) when it's set to 1440p, I was led to believe. Either the X sub sampling is
[Mod Removed – Profanity], and only kinda supports 1440p where it suits or I've gotten a dud monitor.

I'll find out later as a friend picked up the same monitor and he too has the X.

Xbox One X on the LG C9 Oled TV doesn’t use HDR for resolutions other than 4K

I’m unable to play at 1440p with HDR, that was my goal (1440p@120Hz).

Xbox One X will not run 1440p at 120hz

    1440p isnt a tv setting

Its for monitors and usually not thru hdmi

Are you sure it supports it thru hdmi not displayport ?

Usually youd want 4k not 1440p for tvs

1440p is more for pcs resolutjons

    1440p

And that will stay at 1440p? Misread what the faq page says then, swear it said it would auto to 4k when possible.
The output will say 1440p but it will be supersampling in the background, so it will render at 4k on your console and output to 1440p and it will be slightly better than regular 1440p.

This is only for Xbox one S and X I believe.
