    1440p still outputs games at 4k


    Hi guys,

    Using the new 1440p setring, the dashboard is set to 1440p but 4k games are still getting output to my monitor at 4K.

    Is there a way to force 1440p down scaling?

    X Box One - Resolution Query.

    The only way you'll get games running at 4k right now is with a PC. Xbox one and PS4 won't ever get true 4k.

    I would set the xbox to output 1080p, since that's the best resolution you'll get out of an xbox one.

    1080p - 1440p - 2160p(4k), is the difference.

    4K Blu-ray playback on 1440p menu issue

    Hey everybody,

    I'm not sure if this has been answered but I couldn't find a solution, so apologies if it has. I've got my One X connected to my 1440p monitor outputting at that resolution. Games run fine, most apps run fine, but for whatever reason I have no menu showing
    up when playing back 4K blu-rays on it at 1440p. If I switch output resolution to 1080p or 720p voila, but otherwise I just get the background menu video playing. I can still navigate the menu but can't see it.

    Have tried a number of 4K blu-rays including Westworld and The Force Awakens but the same result.

    Any ideas?

    Hey there,

    Only a select amount of titles at the moment support native 1440p, and will be up to the developer if they choose to support that resolution. All other 4K content will continue to be rendered at 4K but will be super sampled to 1440p,
    not down scaled. hope this clears up the question!

    1440p

    And that will stay at 1440p? Misread what the faq page says then, swear it said it would auto to 4k when possible.
    The output will say 1440p but it will be supersampling in the background, so it will render at 4k on your console and output to 1440p and it will be slightly better than regular 1440p.

    This is only for Xbox one S and X I believe.

    You know what? I decreased the resolution from 4k to 2k and the game in PC looks almost exactly of how it looks i'm the console. Is the console not outputting 4k res but some sort of 1440p or 1080p rescaled? I don't know what to think now.

    I researched online and it says HDMI 2.0 has the ability to output 1440p 120fps but you require HDMI 2.1 to output 4K 120fps

    I saw on Reddit that it works on some monitors not all and wanted to know whether it worked on mine?
