    I have a ViewSonic VX3258-2KC-MHD. In user guide #5 clearly states that 1440p @ 120hz is supported!!!!!

    I have tried override to manual hdmi in the advanced options. As well as auto detect. I've tried with free sync on and off. While also checking allow variable refresh rate both ways. I've messed with overscan. 4k is off. hdr is off. hdmi input is
    2.0. My hdmi cord is also the one that came with the xbox one x. Also restarted with multiple configurations. On both Xbox and Monitor.

    I have tried everything i can think of on my xbox one x. Just did the new update yesterday. i think it was 3.8gb. Still can not reach 1440p @ 120hz. please help!

    You've mentioned that you've tried to adjust the settings on the monitor and it's not working, so it might be worth checking the settings on the Xbox itself to see if 120Hz is enabled.

    You should be able to do this by going to the Settings app on your console, and then the "TV and Display" options, then go to "Video Modes", see if there's a box for 120Hz and if it's ticked, or tick the "allow variable refresh rate" if you're using Freesync.

    To get 1440p 120 you have to do it manual, don't use automatic resolution.

    Xbox doesn't have a 1440p 60FPS option; can't use 1080p or 1440p HDR on xbox

    I just tried to change it to 1440p 60hz, but it says this resolution isn't supported.

    1080p is available to me in 120hz or in 60hz

    4k is available to me in 120hz or in 60hz

    But,1440p is only available in 120hz?

    I have checked the manual, it says it supports 1440p 120hz over hdmi the only thing it supports over display port is 1440p 165hz. So I will ask again why won't it let me set it manually hdmi then choose 1440p 120hz, but the option is available with auto detect. The monitor also supports VRR and free sync over hdmi.
