    1440p, 120hz, VRR on XBox Series X

I have a Samsung C27JG56. It has a HDMI 2.0-Port and supports 1440p, 144hz and VRR. My Series X (as well as my One S before it!) only lets me use 2 of these features simultaneously... No matter what I try, I always have to sacrifice one feature if I activate
the other two (yes I know the XBox only does 120hz but the monitor can actually do more).

As I said, the monitor has a HDMI 2.0 port and I use the cable that was in my Series X box, so that should not be a problem.

When I connect the monitor to my PC (which is not really powerful...) I can use all three features. It handles 1440p, 120hz AND VRR, no problem.

Online I found similar issues, but nothing with this exact set of thins.

    Help?

    :)

Will Xbox series x/s have more monitors that run 1440p @ 120hz than current gen consoles?

I have a Samsung CHG70, it supports 1440P 120hz. If you want HDR you have to set it for freesync on the monitor and turn VRR on the xbox. Im hoping the series x supports 1440P 120hz with HDR on and not having to turn freesync on at all because its only
    limited to 80fps i believe.

will hdmi 1.4 work with the xbox series s and do 1440p 120hz?

So will I be able to get the monitor, plug it into my xbox series s and do 1440p 120hz with vrr?

Will Xbox provide a fix for HDMI 2.0 144hz monitor to support 1440p 120hz/VRR OS Display Settings

Which xbox are you trying to connect with? The xbox one s and the x should be able to run 1440p at 120hz. They should be compatible with VRR also.

Do I Need A Xbox Series X or S To Have 4K Resolution At 120hz?

You will need the Xbox Series X for 4K 120hz. The Series S can only do 1440p 120hz

1440p@120Hz WITH HDR on Xbox Series X ?

    Hi,

What ngocphi has said is somewhat true but not entirely. I'm sure they mean well but I little more explanation is required.

The Asus VG32VQ can do 120Hz at 1440P, however, the VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) FreeSync on this display tops out at 85Hz over HDMI. So for Xbox, 1440P 120Hz and VRR is a no go. You should be able to get to 120Hz with VRR at 1080P though.

The inability to do 1440P @ 120Hz is a limitation of your display's hardware, nothing to do with the older HDMI 2.0 port.

Most of these monitors rated refresh is based on their Display Port hardware.
