14 day xbox live trial from Halo 4, a complete lie.

Am I crazy? When I see "Try Xbox Live gold for free" and "14 day Xbox live gold trial" should I not expect a full gold trial?

My past 5 year tenure should speak for itself, I can choose weather or not I want to pay for your service. I felt it was subpar and not worth my money so I didn't resub. Today, maybe things are different. I fire up this "14 day Xbox live gold trial" and
nothing happens. I can't get games for gold (actually understandable), I can't get your sales (a little less reasonable... but somewhat understandable), I can't get the demo for LR:FFXIII (unreasonable), I can't even netflix (extremely unreasonable).

I talked to CS and apparently the 'xbl gold trial' that is bundled with Halo 4 is only for Halo 4. On top of this there is no way to just send an email, so I have to call or post on these forums to let you know that you are outright lying to me by saying
I can trial XBL GOLD and only shoot people in Halo.

I don't know how these forums work, but I would like a message from a higher up explaining this to me, and hopefully righting this. I still have faith in MS, but this is the last straw and I am starting to feel like I made the right choice by not resubscribing.

14 Day Xbox Live Trial not working

So my friend gave me a 14 day XBL trial which he got with Halo 4. I'm not sure if it only works with Halo 4, but I check my memberships, the 14 day trial is all greyed out. Please help, I'd really like to play online.

A trial is a trial. Most trials are specific to the game they came with. They do not offer full access to Gold features which includes Gold only games or trials. In the case of the Halo 4 trial card, this means you will be able to access online multiplayer
for Halo 4 only.

You should read the find print on the back of the trial card.

 

As onyx62is mentioned, the Terms&Conditions for the trial would have been written on the card in the small print. By redeeming the code, you were in effect accepting these terms and conditions. Microsoft will not grant you an 'all access' trial because it
will have stated what the exact specifics for the trial were on the card you received. Furthermore, you have suffered no detriment as the trial was free and on a legal level this is significant, alongside the fact that Microsoft would have protected themselves
against false advertising claims in the aforementiones T&Cs. Sorry mate, but that's just how the cookie crumbles.
