  1. 14 day suspension from defending myself.

I played a game of CoD and beat some people. One of them decides to spam me 12 party invites and says "Join" and I tell him, "you're sad lol". He proceeds to spam me and call me trash so I send 1 more text, "[Mod Removed - Profanity] my
dms". This leads to me receiving a 14 day communication suspension which now I cannot play CoD and talk to my friends, I can't play Soul Calibur 6 online at all which I've waited 4 years for, and there's several other games I can't play online or communicate
with my friends. I applied for a case review but missed 1 question both times and I'd appreciate it if an enforcement officer somewhere would review it and refer to me the reason why I have a 14 day suspension because I fail to see how me sending those 2 texts
defending myself from some person leads to me not being able to enjoy the service I pay for when I want to just relax and play with my friends on these games I paid for. I've had Xbox live for a long time and I'd never had any issues, but this current suspension
is kind of ridiculous. Even if the suspension can't be lifted, I'd be glad to at least let me play games online with my friends. Thank you.

    :)

Everyone got so hostile when I admitted to a communication suspension. As I said, I was defending myself.

    14 Day Suspension

You can view your ban at enforcement.xbox.com and file a case review if eligible. The enforcement team does not use the forums.

  4. 14 day suspension from defending myself.

I don't even see how that is worthy of a 14 day suspension anyways? Especially when it's just an abbreviation and I'm just defending myself from someone who has a booter trying to pull my IP. The person was clearly harassing me and when I went to block
him he just sent me party invites and messages on other accounts.

I dont understand why they do not take the same stand with trollers as they do with the people trying to rid themselves of these annoyances? A bully is a bully no matters where he does it and Xbox live is rife with them!

Why isn't something done about the instigators in instances like these? You are penalizing the victims who have been goaded and gotten!

Seems the wrong focus is placed here!

If you say anything that can be considered even slightly offensive then you would receive a ban, your best option with a troll is to block and report them and never send them a message.

To review your enforcement and try to appeal it please login at enforcement.xbox.com and try the case review.

By "defending yourself" you sent a message that violated the Code of Conduct due to the use of the abbreviated "F-word".

The other person reported that, and you got a suspension for that.

Instead of "defending" yourself, you "attacked" the person with your message.

You would have "defended" yourself correctly, if you simply blocked the annoying person from contacting you, and if they sent you offensive messages, to report them.

There is a difference between "defending yourself" and "fighting back". You chose to fight back with a message that violated the Code of Conduct, the offending message got reported, and the Enforcement Team decided that the message earned you a suspension.

So in the future, do yourself a favor and do NOT respond to other people's annoying messages.

Instead, report offensive messages, and block the person, so the Enforcement Team can suspend them, and thanks to the block they can't bother you anymore.

  8. 14 day suspension from defending myself.

    I am NOT
a member of the enforcement team I am just going by what you put in your post

Unfortunately it does not matter how a situation starts if you do ANYTHING that violates the code of conduct and it gets reported to the enforcement team YOUR actions are subject to a suspension.

Here is a link to the Code of conduct:

    https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-US/home/codeofconduct

The parts of the code of conduct that you broke are as follows:

What are examples of content that is prohibited in Xbox Live?

(Note: the examples below are just a few examples of Content prohibited by the Microsoft Code of Conduct. Just because something isn’t on this list doesn’t mean it’s OK.)

Content that could harm or harass a person, including yourself, or an animal. For example:

    • Profane words or phrases
    • Suicide-related content
    • Negative speech (including hate speech or threats of harm) directed at people who belong to a group, including groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, language, gender, age, disability, veteran status, religion, or sexual orientation/expression
    • "Noise", which is excessive speech intended to interfere with or disrupt another person's or group's ability to enjoy a game or app on Xbox Live
    • Content showing or promoting animal abuse

Content that promotes, or sounds or looks
like words, phrases, puns, images or imagery that refer to any prohibited content

I have underlined the parts that I can tell that according to your post that you said to the other player that were in violation of the code of conduct.

The enforcement team DOES NOT use these forums.

If you feel that you should not have been suspended you can sign into their website at enforcement.xbox.com and file for a case review.

This is the ONLY way to contact the enforcement team and the ONLY way that your suspension may be lifted sooner then the 14 days.

Once the case review is filed they will reinvestigate the situation (this can take a couple days) they will determine if they can lift the suspension sooner if they uphold their decision then that is the final answer and you would have to wait out the 14
    day suspension.

In the future it may just be best to Report the other players for their actions, block them, and mute them.

This will let the enforcement team investigate their actions, prevent you from being matched up with them in the future and prevent any other contact with them in the future.

  9. IF you are being harassed on a game the best thing to do is report them so the enforcement team can investigate them.

  10. I did block him, he had alternate accounts spam me and his friends were also spamming me. Okay I said "g t f o" that's abbreviated and f could even stand for frick. I fail to see why I receive a 14 day suspension for saying just that when someone was trying
to HIT ME OFFLINE and spamming me. I can't even play half my games online and I can't play with my friends at all. Why is the punishment that severe for something so small that I sent when I was the one being harassed? How it "g t f o" attacking them? I told
the person to get away from me.

  11. I did the case review and I failed 1 question 2 times and have to wait 24 hours. I come on Xbox to play with my friends and and not stress out from stuff in real life and now I can't even enjoy this service because of 1 troll who I told to get tf out my
dms. That's insane that people are punished for defending themselves even without actually swearing.

Yea I agree, but there's nothing we can do. I troll people back if they get on my nerves, but in a way that won't get me banned.

  13. 14 day suspension from defending myself.

Exactly, I know my response to his attack wasn't the most professional, but I'm not a professional person. I'm a normal human being who plays Xbox to relieve my stress and play with my friends, yet I get 14 day punishment when someone else is attacking
me verbally and spamming me on multiple accounts. Kind of ridiculous and makes me feel little as if I'm the bad one when I defended myself.

  14. You can submit the case the review, when able, and see if the Enforcement Team will lift/shorten the suspension.

Only an Enforcement team member can assist with specific suspension items. Beyond that you will have to wait it out.

As others have already mentioned, mute, block and report any messages you receive and go on with your game play.

If someone uses multiple accounts to get around a block, you can (temporarily) set your online and privacy settings to "Friends only", so only known people from your friend list can talk to you.

And while the "f" COULD stand for "frick", you know too well what that abbreviation usually says.

There are a lot of people that think they are smart by saying something like "Oh, but I just called him
a cigarette. I'm from Britain. Totally harmless, right?"

Also since you say you failed the questionnaire for the Case review two times, you have probably a few misconceptions about the Code of Conduct, and therefore think you are the victim, whereas you really did NOT defend yourself, but in fact (also) attacked
the other person. Which then reported your attack, and the Enforcement team had to act on that report.
