    120FPS/Hz in settings not working

I have a 4k samsung tv. Its capble to do 1440 at 120 FPS. I used to be able to go into call of duty, mainly warzone but both that and cold war and play at 120fps by going into my xbox settings and changing it to 1440 at 120. My tv has freesync built in so I was able to make sure I was running at the resoultion and frame rate intended. This really worked well in zombies as it crashes alot and reducing the resoultion helped alot. But now I cant seem to do any of that. No matter how many times I changed the resolution or frame rate it will alwasy go back to 4k 60fps when I go back into the game. What is going and why is it not working anymore? Cant play zombies without crashing anymore.

    :)

Xbox Series S does not and will not support 2K at 120hz with HDMI 2.0

    HDMI 2.0 only supports 1440p60 or 1080p120.
If you want a higher resolution with 120fps, you'll need a HDMI 2.1 cable.

Your Series S also supports 4k with up to 120fps, just like the Series X.

You can find more info here Set up 4K gaming at 120 Hz on Xbox Series X | Xbox Support when you expand the "Enable 120 Hz without 4K" Tab.

    Xbox Series S with Monitor

Thank you for contacting us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    good afternoon

the cable that comes with it hdmi 2.1, but not every monitor that runs 120 hz runs 120fps on xbox, see if it accepts the option.

    Xbox support for 75hz monitors

Youbdont know that 75 Hz isn't a vesa console standard right?

    There is no 75fps

    It's 30 60 and 120fps

You may have 75hz but that doesn't really affect frame rates

    They are also set

They can increase or decrease depending on performance

Games are set to 60-120 or even 30fps

Same with 144hz you may have 144hz butthat doesn't mean it will.give you 144fps

It is what games are.set to

Monitor capable of 1440p, 120fps for Xbox Series X

Thanks for your reply! This is the monitor I was looking at: Dell S-Series 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Gaming Monitor (S2719DGF); QHD (2560 x 1440) up to 155 Hz; 16:9; 1ms Response time; HDMI 2.0; DP 1.2; USB; FreeSync; LED

As far as my budget if this monitor doesn't work, I'm really not trying to go over $300. Also, it may be worth noting that I'm not particularly interested in 4k gaming. 1440p, 120fps (or even 1080p, 120fps) would be fine with me.

Scream tear on my Xbox one x help please

no samsung 4k tv has 140 hz, probably 120hz, but that game aint gonna get nowhere near 120fps on the x so will be struggling to hit 40fps therefore screen tear. try changing refresh rate on x to 60hz and try.
