    Yes it does not include a gold card but the day one 12 month gold card is separate.

    Because some people will buy it for that price.

    Microsoft are getting paid no matter what. They may as well make more from people who don't shop around.

    Its the same for everything, How many people paid £54.99 for Wolfenstein the new order via xbox.com today when its £39 in some shops. I still havent paid more than £39 for any xboxone or PS4 game, an I have....

    Titanfall, Forza 5, Battlefield 4, COD-Ghosts, Need for speed rivals, Metal gear, Tomb raider definative edition, on Xbone and COD-Ghosts, Killzone, Wolfenstein, Fifa on PS4 and various Arcade/Psn titles.

    YES YES I own COD Ghosts on both consoles,

    Because its in MS interests to not compete with retailers, as soon as that changes the prices will drop.

    I would love to know the annual overall money spent on gold subs. It must be in the millions, or hundred millions even. As for the cost on the site, pretty much what vote said. Anyone who buys them from MS can barter the cost but I don't think I have ever
    seen a dramatic cost drop from MS themselves.

    That's a very good deal Lofty. I'm paid up until 2016 myself and with apps now outside of the Gold sub, it's only party chat that has me interested in Gold.

    I'm not sure one feature is worth even a heavily discounted subscription.

    Xobox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate conversion rates

    Yes 1 month is 20 days, but remember buying 12 1 month golds is way more expensive than buying 1, 12 months gold, hence why you get less for 12 months gold. 3 months gold = 2 months ultimate.

    Here is the breakdown of how conversion works. We will use 1 months ultimate as an example.

    If you have ultimate active for 1 month for example:

    If you add 12 months of gold while ultimate is active, the conversion is:

    12 months gold = 4 months ultimate

    so 4 months ultimate + 1 prior month ultimate = 5 months ultimate

    If you have only 12 months gold active:

    Then if you add 1 month ultimate, the conversion is:

    12 months gold = 12 months ultimate

    12 months ultimate + 1 month ultimate = 13 months ultimate.

    Do you understand? If you want a better conversion rate, then you need gold first and then add 1 month ultimate to make everything else ultimate but if you add gold later, it gives you less months.

    Xbox Live Gold problem

    Since Ultimate includes Gold, when you add a Gold card to Ultimate, it converts the Gold to Ultimate. Since 12 months of Gold is equal in price to 4 months of Ultimate, you get 4 months of Ultimate when you add 12 months. In order to get the full 12 months, you would have to add Gold before purchasing Ultimate.

    Are you sure it was a 12 month Ultimate and not 12 months of Gold? As I don't believe there are 12 month Ultimate cards. But if you had an active Ultimate subscription and bought a12 month Gold card, the Gold would have been converted to Ultimate an would have equaled 4 months of Ultimate.
