12 month XBox Live card says it's not activated!!!

I bought my son a 12 month XBox live gold subscription at Walmart for his bday which landed on Easter this year. When I purchased the card I went through one of those scan yourself isles, but before I scanned the card I asked one of the employees standing
close by if I would have any problems with this card, since I was unsure if they had to do anything other than ring the card up at the register. He told me that it was ok to do it this way & once its scanned it activates. So my son got the card in his basket
from the "Easter Bunny"!! We didn't try the card at first because my son still had a month or 2 left of Xbox live gold. When we finally tried the card it would give us the message that This code is not yet active & to contact the merchant. The next day I brought
it back to Walmart with the receipt, thinking somehow going through the do it yourself lane must have been the problem. Customer Service told me they don't take that type of product back. I explained to them that I didn't want to take it back, that I only
wanted the card to be activated correctly. They told me when I scanned the card it was activated & I needed to contact Xbox live.Just now I tried to contact support through live support, but I have a new phone number & they told me for security reasons I must
wait a month before I can use that forum. This is my last hope at finally receiving some type of positive feedback & direction to what I should do next. $60 is a big loss for my wallet & my son can't understand why the Easter bunny left a card that he cannot
use

My 3 month Xbox live card won't work. It's says it hasn't been activated, but it has.

I bought a 3 month Xbox live card, and i can't use it. Says it's not activated, but it is. Walmart won't refund or give me a new card. Said to contact Xbox live.

I bought the special 12 Month + 2 Month bundle... It comes in the one card...

My account says that the card was activated, but it says it runs out in 1 month.... Not even 2...

What's the specific error code you receive when you try to redeem it? That may lead us to a more specific issue, but if the card was simply not activated, unfortunately the best route to take will be to reach out to the retailer to have it properly activated
- which I see you have tried so far. I definitely understand the frustration this may have caused, but the retailer will be the best route to take in these scenarios.

Keep us posted if you received a specific error code just in case we might be able to find a different cause! Error codes generally look similar to XBOS-0000 or 0x0000000.
