12 month subscription but only got 3 months

I have xbox game pass ultimate, it expires on 4/3/2020 i bought a 12 month subscription card and when i redeemed it, it only gave me 3 months instead of a full year. I did not know this. But 3 months is $24.99 can microsoft add whatever wasnt used to
my account? i feel ripped off.

It should have converted as 4 months of Ultimate, not just 3 months. The conversion is based off the price, not the length of time. The price of a 12 month Gold subscription is the same price as 4 months of Ultimate. So you don't receive a credit.

When it converted your subscription it was based on retail pricing. If you paid $60 for a 12 month Xbox Live membership then that would be equivalent to 4 months of Ultimate Game Pass that is $15 a month. See chart below:
