12 month prepaid live gold error

Another thing I did was launch forza 5 and went to (online) multiplayer, before my code was activated. I then activated the code after being prompted while in the game. I dont know if this is part of the solution that worked for me.

So I suggest try launching a game and going to online multiplayer so that the xbox prompts you to sign up to gold.

But make sure that the credit card details are already added.

This is what I did and I had the same error so I hope it can help someone

You have to remove your account from your xbox then you have "power cycle" your xbox by holding the power button for ten seconds. After that you turn it back on and add your account again and it should work.
