11 day old xbox S played a total of 4 hours powers on and shut right off

I would also like to add that if you bought this from a retailer, check if you are still able to return it for an exchange. This would be a quicker solution than actually getting it serviced by Microsoft.

Lets try some things:

1)

- Plug your Power Supply directly into a Wall outlet without any extension cable / surge protectors

- Try a differnet wall outlet aswell.

2) PowerCycle

- Press and hold the white Xbox Button on the Console until it shuts off.

- Unplug the power cable for around 2 minutes.

- Replug and Restart your Console. Try again.

If the error still occurs try the next step:

3) Reset

- Power off your console

- Unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

- Wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

- Press and hold the BIND button (Xbox One: located on the left side of the console, Xbox One S: located on the front below the power button) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

- Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

- The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

- On the Troubleshooter select "Reset" and when asked select the option to "Keep your Games and Apps".

Make sure you know your Email / Password combination of your Account before you do the Reset.

4) Offline Update

- Perform the Offline Update as explainded here under "I need to Update my Console offline" http://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/console/system-updates-solution

If nothing helps your Console would need to get serviced. For this follow this link:

and register your Console if you havent already done that. Click on your Console, select the issue and follow the steps.

You only need to qualify for Tier 1 right now, not top the leaderboard. Everybody on the top right now is playing unnecessary amounts of hours to scare people off from trying in the finals.



Here, let's take a look at something right quick:

Right now to qualify for Tier 1, you need a score of at least 18241.

Gamesager got over 30,000 points on his first day playing. I believe he went for 18 hours that day.

So, to this day you wouldn't have had to even play 18 hours to get into Tier 1, only a little more than half of that, so like 11 hours total to qualify for Tier 1 so far..

So over the course of the 3 weeks this has been going on, a person would have only had to play 1 hour a day for 11 days, that leaves a week and a half of not even touching the game..

Surely anybody could have managed to qualify for Tier 1, no matter how busy their life is.



The only time you really need to invest a bunch of time into this is during the finals next week, which if you were serious about winning this, you would try your best to find a way to take time off for.

No noises, and i left it for a day and it booted up fine. I put the xbox on power saver settings as well. I spent a few hours updating games and it seemed to be running fine. I started playing red dead for anout 10 min and then it shut off again.

i think its something to do with the power supply, but i cant open it because i dont have the right screw driver for it.

Well I have used them for years. When they hold the charge right i would say they last about 4 to 5 days with me playing 2 hours a day. Now, they dont even last 2 hours total and when it says its dying i plug the cord on the controller and it says its charged
after 30mins which is not right because when the battery is working right it takes a little over an hour to hour and a half to charge
