    @ Rand,I've never gotten motion sickness before. I literally put my big comfy chair right up to the tv. It sits straight in front of me a perfect eye level.

    It's also a myth that sitting close is bad for your eyes. It's not. It's a proven fact.

    avsforums as there is bound to be a detailed thread on that particular display device along with up-to-date issues that fellow owners may be having.

    You definitely can't go wrong with Samsung or LG. Both are remarkable! It all depends on what your will to spend. Since Black Friday is not that far away you may want to wait until then. Stores like Best Buy and Sears always have great deals then. Keep your
    eyes open and see if you can find a circular that advertised Black Friday deals.

    I'd go with Sony for a gaming tv personally they have low input lag and are one of the best TV's for gaming, I have the newer 55" Sony Bravia's and I love it.

    The 1080p Vizio's are pretty good.

    They're priced right, have a great refresh rate for gaming, and the stand is solid. No cat would be able to knock it over. Unless its some kind of super cat. :)

    What's your budget and maximum size?

    Samsung has great TV's and LG has very good prices for quality TV's. I personally would go with those brands and as big as possible for your budget. Stands will also depend on budget, size of TV and what devices that are hooked to the TV (how many shelves
    you'll need).

    @Brandie - 3ft from a 47in TV? How do you not get motion sickness?
