Ok Got the x1 first of Nov. Have old 720 hdtv. Any suggestion for tv upgrades. If the suggestion is above a 27 inch screen, include a non wall mounted entertainment stand which are mostly cat proof.

    Live TV switching to 480

When I switch from a game to Live TV, my TV has switched from 1080 to 480 stretch.

I have to manually switch the TV format back to 1080 every time I want to watch Live TV.

Any known fixes for this problem?

First thing you need to do is NOT listen to people who say 1080p isn't important or you don't see a difference. You do and so do I, but I only sit 3 feet away from a 47 inch. If you were across the room you wouldn't, but duh, that's stating the obvious.
Know-it-alls will be out in full force to let you know that.

Secondly, just don't listen to people because everyone will give a completely different opinion. What looks best for you might look bad to someone else.

What's your budget and maximum size?

Samsung has great TV's and LG has very good prices for quality TV's. I personally would go with those brands and as big as possible for your budget. Stands will also depend on budget, size of TV and what devices that are hooked to the TV (how many shelves
    you'll need).

@Brandie - 3ft from a 47in TV? How do you not get motion sickness?

The 1080p Vizio's are pretty good.

They're priced right, have a great refresh rate for gaming, and the stand is solid. No cat would be able to knock it over. Unless its some kind of super cat. 1080 TV suggestions :)

  9. Hello everyone 1080 TV suggestions :)

I have a 42 inch TV and I am sitting six feet away it (perfect for me LOL).

I would never buy a TV that is bigger than 42 inches because not only would it cost more money, but it wouldn't work well with my set-up.

Long story short, get a TV that works well from the distance that you play at 1080 TV suggestions :)

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone 1080 TV suggestions :)

Know you budget and an appropriate size especially where you want to use it. I wouldn't go for a 60' in a bedroom or a 32' in a living room. LED are thinner and more energy efficient than LCD. Plasma errh wouldn't go for those even if it has a better frame
    rate or something.

I have a 40' Sony KDL40EX720 in my bedroom. It's a LED Full HD 1080p with an anti-glare (anti-reflective) display which doesn't look like one of those HDTV's which when you look at it, looks like a mirror. It also has an X-Reality picture processor as well.
It has 4 HDMI ports 2 USB ports I think. Brightness suffers a little unless you have gamma set to +2. And it does experience jaggies but other than that, it's good. It's a 2011 model. It has 3D and wi-fi capability. And my HDTV weighs only 10kg where as the
TV which my parents still use weighs 40kg.

Sony and Samsung are well-known brands. Avoid Transonic, Soniq, and other cheap brands.

Thanks, I more likely to go with Samsung as that will talk with my tablet. I generally sit 6 to 8 feet away.
