    Hi Leah,

Firewall settings are accessed through your routers admin settings and that varies among different brands. Usually you have to login to the router portal by typing in your router's IP address into the address bar and the IP address can usually be found on
a label on the router itself.

I recommend contacting your internet service provider if you need assistance accessing your router's firewall settings. What you want to make sure is that UPnP is turned on which is a protocol important for online gaming. Ask them to make sure your console's
MAC address is not being filtered out from the list of approved devices. Your console's MAC address can be found under your Network settings in the advanced settings section.

Do you connect wireless? Using an ethernet cable to hardwire the Xbox to the router will greatly improve connectivity and reduce any sort of packet loss being experienced.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    :)
