10 bit colour Xbox one x

i have purchased a kogan tv, kaled50ju8000, which apparently has 1.07 b colour. Why is 10 bit colour not available in the xbox one x settings? Only 8 bit colour.

Xbox One X HDR issues

Already gone through it unfortunately. On a side note I tested the Xbox one in 10 bit colour mode using a 10 bit 4k gradient image and it is not applying 10 bit colour depth correctly, the image is staying in 8 bit.

YcbCr 4:2:0/4:2:2/4:4:4 8/10/12 bit 1080p/4k support for the video setttings of the xbox one X

I would like the support of Ycbcr chroma subsampling added to the colour space in the video settings of the xbox one X. Because of the use of the RGB limited there is a small change in colours (because all movies are encoded in the YcbCr 4:2:0 8 /10 bit
colour space depending whether they use HDR and rec 2020 colour space instead of rec 709 ) when converting from the YcbCr 4:2:0 to RGB limited colour space - polish portal hdtvpolska.com in their review of the xbox one X actually measured this inaccuracy of
converting colours. Also this would be appreciated when it comes to playback of ultra bluray discs with HDR and 4k HDR games and 4k HDR netflix&amazon playback as many devices (mostly projectors with limited 4k HDR support) can't work correctly with your device
as their bandwith is usually limited to 10 gbs HDMI (so it will only accept 3840x2160p YcbCr 10 bit 4:2:0 chroma subsampling) and won't work with your current 3840x2160p YcbCr 10 bit RGB limited colour space as it requires more bandwith. I hope this problem
will be resolved as an update to the xbox one X and to the ultra bluray player app.

I can not find much info on that TV but it seems most likely due to the price, that it's using fake 10 bit color in what's called "8Bit + A-FRC" to get that many colors. This is not technically 10 bit color but 8 bit color that has a screen feature that
blinks between two colors in a pixel to approximate the color that 8 bit can't show.

On the other hand, some TVs actually have to make you enable UHD color on each HDMI input before it will show 10 bit color if it's true 10 bit color. My Samsung required me to do that. Look around in the TV options with your remote to see if that's the case
in the menu, then reboot your console by unplugging it for 30 seconds. It should show 10 bit after you enable that option, if there is one.

What type of TV are you using ?

The OP has stated their TV is a LG LE7500 which is a 1080P TV.

I'm pretty sure that those games look how they are meant to look when the Xbox One X is using a 1080P TV. The TV is outputting an 8-bit colour depth, which is why the games have banding.

It's normal for that TV. If they want to remove the banding or at least minimise it, they will need a true 10-bit supported TV. The best option for the One X is a 4K TV or monitor with 10-bit HDR support.

It won't break anything if you change it. But if it doesn't change, try another game.

Games with 8-bit colour depth will have banding, regardless of what settings are on your console.

If your TV either does not support 10-bit colour depth, or the game is programmed for 10-bit but you're using still using 8-bit, you'll get banding.

Basically either your Xbox or your TV can't display all of colours in some of your games, hence the banding.
