$1 ultimate pass deal

I got the offer on my xbox dashboard for 3 months of ultimate for $1. When i try and redeem it though it says an error has occured and points me to the support site. I saw one other posting on here with the same problem and i checked my subscriptions like suggested there. I do have a canceled ultimate subscription, but even when i go through it to renew it the same error comes up.
