    Hello all,

    I currently own an Xbox360 Gears of War3 edition and it recently stopped working. Using your excellent support forums, I was able to ascertain that it is the HDD which needed to be addressed. Sure enough, removing the HDD and booting the console worked.
    So I got another HDD and now that is resolved (minus the 15 hours of downloading my 120+ games and DLC) It is unfortunate that I cannot retrieve ANY information from my broken HDD (which I have had for either 2 or 3 years...I'm getting old so time is speeding
    up y'know?) Although I can retrieve my gamertag, all other profiles (and their accomplishments) are gone. What a shame. Would that I had the sense to utilize the cloud but that ship has sailed. Cloud saves are
    now enabled lol.

    Anyways, the current issues are that my Xbox360 will not connect wirelessly even though it has wireless capability. It tells me I need to connect a wireless receiver to connect to the wireless network. If that wasn't bad enough, now my system will not read
    any discs (of which I have over 25). Why is all of this happening all at once? Did the defective HDD cause this? Is there a way to get around this or fix it without having to pay to have it repaired?

    As Mister Gwyther said I think the Tenure problem is now resolved. As of 1/2/13 so if it still shows you for the wrong Tenure you will have to follow the steps of redownloading your profile and also clearing out your Cache.

  3. Number of years on Xbox LIve changed randomly.

    I hope you have resolved this issue. If not, please be patient and try troubleshooting the problem.

    Steps:

    1) Re-downloading Xbox live gamer profile.

    2) Clearing cache

    The wireless issue seems to be more touch and go; It works occasionally but disconnects willy-nilly. The 360's inability to read a disc is more frustrating since I have so many games I cannot play

    This thread has been active for almost 40 days.

    Looks like the wireless issue is not with the 360 but still can't read a disc. Should I post every disc I own so you can see the hundreds of hundreds of dollars I've spent on this system?

    I have to be honest, I am not impressed with the service here. I will wait another week and then complete the survey they sent me regarding this forum.

    Most of the posting here is done by your peers, even if they are ambassadors. If there is no answer, either no one that has read it knows about the issue, or the right person hasn't seen it. The console not recognizing the built in wireless system seems
    to be a serious issue. It might be necessary to contact support: 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

    However after a browser search of this issue, I found several results including ones in these forums. Here is one of significance:

    If you have any accessories attached to the console, unplug them. This can include USB flash drives, 3rd party headsets, or a capture card/PVR.

    Unplug your console from power for 5-10 minutes.

    Plug it back in and start up the cosnole, with accessories still removed.

    If it works, great! If the wireless fails again when an accessory is plugged back in, then the accessory may be interfering with the console's functions. If it continues to misbehave without any accessories, then it's time to set up the repair as Brosky
    suggests.

    Ok, "reset and keep my games and apps" did not resolve the issue.

    I know of 2 other people now who have different external drives but have the same problem.

    This is obviously related to the October update.
