  1. 1.5Mbps Download Speed

No matter what I do, my Xbox One S can't do better than 1.5Mbps download. I've performed all troubleshooting tips I've seen, including a full system reset. This problem exists for both wired and wireless connections. I know it's not my home network, because
every other console and device is able to achieve the near-gigabit speeds from my ISP. Any suggestion/advice is greatly appreciated.

    :)

Xbox connect to wireless network but not Internet

A lot of the time this has to do with packet loss or download and upload speed.

    Try running www.pingtest.net and www.speedtest.net

Make sure your download speed is above 3mbps and your upload speed is above 1.5mbps

Also make sure on the pingtest page that you have no packet loss 1.5Mbps Download Speed :)

    Hey there, JustTheViolator!

I'm sorry to see any connection issues. While other devices in your house may connect up just fine and get nice speeds, there is a chance that your router isn't set up optimally for the Xbox Live service. You mention other consoles; are these also Xbox consoles?
If so, I'll need to know how many and what type of Xbox consoles you have in the house.

Could you post back with the exact steps you've found and tried out for me, too? I don't want to ask you to do something that you've already done; it'll waste your time and I'd rather not do that. If you could also provide the manufacturer and model number
of your router and modem (or gateway, if you have a 2-n-1 from your ISP), I would be able to look into if there are any known issues with those devices and if we have solutions to them.

I look forward to working with you! 1.5Mbps Download Speed :)

  5. There are no other Xbox consoles, but I do have a PS4 pro, 3 PC's, 2 MacBooks, multiple cell phones, etc. (not all on/running at the same time). Outside of typical losses, every other device is getting good speeds, both up and down.

As for the Xbox, I started by changing the power-on settings, which didn't do anything. Then, I checked network settings, trying different DNS servers. This process was repeated for wired, 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless connections. As for my modem/router, it's
the Verizon Quantum Gateway G1100. I will add, that for a moment, the device's connection test showed a 200Mbps download, but that almost immediately dropped back down to 1-1.5Mbps, while upload speed continued to maintain Finally, I did a factory reset on
the console, and that did not solve the issue. The only thing that I could not do, was setup QoS, because somehow Verizon's gateway doesn't have it as a feature. Thank you for the response and any further advice you can give me.

  6. You are quite welcome, and I am much appreciative of the detailed steps you've done!

We don't have any information on that device with known issues; that's both good and not good news. You've already done so much that I would ask someone to do. Oddly enough, I do have someone else that is running into the same type of issue (download speed)
with the same device, but it's in an area where Verizon was bought out by another company; his console is 360. We have seen similar issues in the past with certain network devices causing connection issues while wireless (an **** device specifically given
out by Comcast). The only way to fix it was to go wired with those devices, but that clearly isn't going to work here.

If you can, try setting up port forwarding on your device. You'll want to open

these ports for the Xbox One
. If that doesn't work, remove the port forwarding and set up a Static NAT on the G1100. That is basically the same as setting the console up in DMZ, and will give it a public IP address to bypass all the ports.

Let me know how that goes! Hopefully we can nail this one down. While you are doing that, I'm going to sync up with some people on my end to see if we can get anymore information on this device. 1.5Mbps Download Speed :)

  7. Hey again!

I wanted to follow up to see how everything is going, and if you were able to try the DMZ options I provided. I've been working with an engineer to dig into this device. Are you able to try your console on a network that isn't your home network? You can
try using your phone as a hotspot and connecting that way if you can't move the console out of the home.

Let me know how it's going! 1.5Mbps Download Speed :)

I apologize for not replying more quickly. The solution took care of my download speed problem. Also, for your engineer's records, two separate other networks were tested, and both saw the same download speed issue. I ended up testing on both my own mobile
hotspot, as well as my neighbor's 2.4G network (her router is separated from the Xbox by a relatively thin wall). Thank you again for your help.
