    0xc0000005 / Unreal Engine 4 Crashes

I have a very peculiar issue with my pc - any video game that runs of Unreal Engine 4 will not launch on my PC, no matter what. I have spent a very long time troubleshooting this and I have also purchased new PC parts in hopes of fixing this, I have never found anyone to have the same issue, and never had any success in getting a game running on Unreal 4 to launch in any capacity. These games all crash within seconds of launch, before even hitting any sort of a menu, often they crash on a black screen before any visuals are shown whatsoever, and they all crash with exception code 0xc0000005 100% of the time. There is no common elements between the games I cannot launch besides Unreal Engine 4, I have tried games from different launchers (Steam, Gamepass, EGS), different varieties of games and I have tried newer and older games, they all crash; any video game not on Unreal 4 runs without issue.

This is not a large issue, my PC functions flawlessly for general use, I use it extensively each day for study and gaming, however I would love to at the very least know why a single engine does not work on my PC. I have completed every possible basic and many advanced trouble shooting steps for this issue. Today, moments ago I installed Windows 11 in hopes that it may let me get past this exception code, but there has been no difference. Even still, any assistance appreciated and I will attempt any suggestions offered.

-Note, my graphics drivers are not currently up to date as I have had issues with newer Nvidia drivers in the past. I have tried updating to the newest drivers multiple times, it has no effect on my issue. Outside Unreal 4 games my PC runs games fkawlessly, I regularly run Destiny 2 and Apex Legends at well over 100fps for hours at a time.

I did notice from your previous thread that, after you replaced the RAM, whilst it stopped the BSODs, it didn't completely stop all issues. Were there other issues besides the UE4 one? Or is that what you were referencing in that thread?
It was just the Unreal engine games, yeah. Everything else is fine.

Are your Chipset drivers up-to-date? Does Device Manager show anything missing?
Device manager shows no exclamations, everything appears to be fine and up-to-date.

I personally still think it's a hardware issue of some sort, whether motherboard or maybe even hard drive and UE4 does something that causes it to be highlighted.
I think so as well, I just have no idea what it is or what to do to fix it. I'm feeling the solution isn't going to be a solution at all, it's just going to be building a new PC and to be honest I'd have done it already if parts weren't priced the way they are at the moment. My partner has an AMD GPU, I may have to try putting her card in my PC and see if it functions any better with that. I'm not going to do that soon though because we need our PCs and I'd want to do it on a clean Windows install - that would put them both out of commission for a day at least.

I really appreciate your assistance regardless of whether or not we've learned anything.

Hi there Max welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Have you tried reinstalling your Windows 10?

Unreal Engine 4 is fairly demanding..it may be that Destiny 2 and Apex Legends aren't taxing your system as much.
I understand what you may mean here, but the games I have tried to run (Supraland, Forgive Me Father) are indie games that are not pushing graphical intensity, let alone compared to D2 or Apex. My partner's PC is less powerful than mine, and I play these games on her PC when she's not using it so I know for a fact that issue isn't the intensity in which the engine may be taxing my system.

Could you post your system specs please? CPU, RAM, GPU. Could you also include what Power Supply Unit you have in your system as it sounds to me (and I have read this elsewhere) like your PSU is either not good enough for your GPU running at UE4 levels or may be borderline. Also, the Hard Drive that you are running the games from, as well as your Primary Drive if different.
I believe the answers to these questions are in the Onedrive I posted, but nevertheless, I have a Ryzen 5 3600x CPU, 2x HyperX Fury 8gb DDR4 and a Geforce GTX 1660TI 6gb. My PSU is a Thermaltake Litepower 600W. I only have one drive in my pc at the moment, a Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500gb.

Do you run 3rd party anti-virus? Avast, Kaspersky, Norton etc? If so, try uninstalling as they can interfere.
    I do not use a 3rd party anti-virus.

GPU Drivers: Not the best to be running older versions but I understand if you have had issues. Can I ask if the NVIDIA driver issues have been in the last 18 months or so? If it is, then I'd try installing them again...but choose Custom Install and then deselect the HD Audio Drivers....those have caused issues for many.

Uninstall with DDU to completely uninstall then download from:

    https://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk

Try leaving off GeForce Experience as it has been known to cause issues too.
The last I tried updating to Nvidia's latest GPU drivers was within the last 4 months. I used DDU, only installed the necessary drivers and did not use Geforce Experience, it had no effect other than causing the games that do run well on my PC to run worse. Around the same time I found there to be generally negative reception to newer Nvidia drivers online, so I decided to again reinstall windows 10 and leave my GPU drivers at version version 457.51, released 02/20.

Whilst a long shot, might also be worth testing your RAM as well...run this overnight:

    https://www.memtest86.com/
I ran memtest overnight on both sticks, I didn't have time to do each individually before I needed my PC again - there was no errors. This ram was purchased 04/21 as my previous ram was not timed correctly for my motherboard, so I selected new ram from the manufacturer's approved timing list for my MOBO and it has functioned perfectly for me since.

Here's a similar thread from the Unreal Engine Forum on Epic which may contain some information worth a look though it's over 2 years old (some of what I suggested came from there, particularly the PSU part):

    https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/all-games-that-run-on-ue4-crash-on-startup/121306
I have seen this thread, this person has had the same issue as me and posted on several different forums, they appear to have never found a solution. They say underclocking their GPU helped, and my GPU does have a factory OC, but underclocking it via afterburner has never made a difference for me.

Also might be worth installing a GPU monitoring program (assuming you haven't done so) to see what it is doing. Afterburner is a decent one but there are others:
I have used Geforce Experience and Afterburner within the past 2 months to monitor my GPU and CPU performance/temp during extended, graphically intensive gaming sessions, and have noticed no obvious problems. Neither my GPU or CPU get particularly hot or show any issues.

I did the same a year ago while experiencing the issue. So the issue started with W11?

I have reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch (formatted SSD) via an installation media USB probably 4 or 5 times since I first noticed this issue almost 2 years ago, and I installed Windows 11 today.
