0x8b050033 black screen

Yep same here. Connected to the internet and all of a sudden it said some services arent available. Can only turn off the console by holding the home button. Xbox avoiding phone calls and support. Absolutely the
[Mod Removed- profanity] thing ive witnessed.

My xbox opens up with a message saying "you need this update, but can't get it right now". I am not able to access any settings in the xbox home and it doesn't event show the home. The only thing I can do is shut down xbox by pressing the home button.
What do I need to do ?

Power off your console, don't power cycle, just press power button and let light go off. Then, unplug console from the wall. Then, hold power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, plug in your console and power it on. Black screen should be gone. This

I'm having the same problem won't let me select a game or anything. My wife was using it this morning while was sleeping. I get up and was about to load a game but now all I get a is it shows me signing in and my headset being assigned and that's it.

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue and getting this error.

Now according to the site, this
error 0x8b50033 means that Xbox servers are currently undergoing maintenance, so it might behoove you to give it a little while for the time being.

We do currently have an
Xbox Live service outage in effect that could be resulting in the error that you're getting so I would recommend keeping an eye on that page and trying to update your Xbox after it's resolved.

On the other hand, troubleshooting never hurts, I would recommend power cycling the console as outlined in

How to restart or power cycle your Xbox One console when you can. Give this a try and let us know how that helped.

mine just started doing the same and i found it only does it when connected to the internet, so yank the connection and you can get into your xbox again....
