0x87e00005 - Still no fix

HI, I'm getting the dreaded 0x87e00005 error when trying to download any game content digitally. This includes updates and full installs, both bought directly from the store and also Game Pass downloads.

Please do not refer me to any of the existing posts or discussions as I have tried ALL methods to recover this, right up to and including a full hard reset to factory settings all to no avail.

My connection is fine - and I've tried multiple different connections with no difference

My Game Pass account and Live etc all fine. so not a payment issue

Microsoft XBOX Live services - All fine

I've tried soft and hard reset, no change

I managed to download apps, but no games. I downloaded both Netflix, then Now TV, then as soon as I try to install any game (from store) it starts

briefly then just goes back to "Installation Stopped" and just will not start???!!!

I then get the

"Check your internet connection - We had to stop installing. If you're still connected, try installing later, when your network might be faster (0x87e00005)" error, but connection is fine.

Someone at Microsoft must know what's causing this? Not looking very good though as 300+ people have basically the same question re: the 0x87e00005 error and still no resolution I can see anywhere...........

This worked for me. I setup these ports on my router as a "virtual server". Good luck.

Thanks for your efforts here but everyone is suggesting things I've already tried. I have tried manually setting DNS and this doesn't help.

This is a pretty recent phenomenon for me and only seems to happen when trying to download updates for games downloaded from Game Pass. As I stated before I can download apps, update apps but cannot update any games which were downloaded from Game Pass
(And before anyone asks, YES my subscription is paid and active.

Also, this error code 0x87e00005, is the only error code that it throws....

Getting pretty annoyed that this keeps happening to me. Every time there is an update available for my Game Pass games this error code keeps happening. I really need proper tech support for this, not xbox ambassadors trying their best to help.

Is there any proper Microsoft tech support I can contact directly for help with this error? I am, in effect, paying for a service which isn't working for me for whatever reason! Surely Microsoft have some obligation to try and get this fixed? I cannot
be the only person still having this issue!

I had this problem and it was my modem I turned it off for 1 min and then back on, then when it had fired up again, my Xbox worked,
