Ever since I got the Xbox One I installed 3 disc games all the way to 100% on the Xbox One and every time I try to play it without the game disc in it, it will not work. A message will pop up and I will write what it says.

Do you own this game or app?

If you have a game disc, insert it now. If there is no disc, make sure you are signed in to Xbox Live. If you do not have the rights to play this, you will need to buy it at the Xbox Store. (0x87de07d1)

I am signed in to Xbox Live and I always heard that you can play games once installed without the disc? Why does it always tell me this? I can easily put the game disc in but it would be better if I didnt.

    :)

Hey there, This may sound a bit cliche but have you tried a Hard Reboot?

    Failing that, You could try:

Turn off console, Unplug all of the leads for roughly 3 minutes, then turn back on.

Go into settings and remove your gamer tag from the console.

Hold down the xbox button on the console for at least 15 seconds (it will turn off, keep holding, and then it will turn back on). - Do this about 3 times.

Then add your account back on to the console and check your game.

    Hope this helps. 0x87de07d1 :)

Just to note out that this happens on every disc game I fully 100% install.

I know it's a bit late to answer, but others might be looking for an answer as well, so here goes.

You can't play a disc game on the Xbox One without inserting the disc into the Xbox.

It was suppose to have been possible though.

When the Xbox One was presented last year, this was one of the key features of the new next-gen console.

But to make sure that you really owned the game you had installed you had installed, you couldn't play offline for more than 24 hours.

After those 24 hours the Xbox One needed to check with the servers that your game was legit.

This caused a bit of an outrage, because many believed that they should be able to play their purchased games offline for as long as they would.

So after much cursing and swearing over Microsoft from some people in the community, Microsoft decided to change that.

But that also meant that we now have to have the discs inserted when we play our games.

I'm really sad they made this change, because with that they also removed what Microsoft called Family Share that meant you could share your games with up to 10 family members or friends, so they would be able to play your games on their own Xbox One, without
    owning the game.

So the only way to play games on the Xbox One without the disc, is to simply buy the digital versions directly on the consoles marketplace.

I hope this helped you and others that might need an answer for this issue.

I had this same issue with my Titanfall disk. After speaking with a Xbox Live Tech, we seem to have resolved the issue by doing the following:

First, remove any discs in the console, then go to Settings > Disc and Blu-Ray > Persistent Storage > Clear Persistent Storage > Clear it 3 times.

Next, please go to Settings > Power and Start-Up > Turn Xbox One Off. Once the console is off, please unplug the console from the power supply.

Then after 30 seconds, please plug it back in and turn the console back on.

Once the console is loaded and you are signed in, please test pop the game disc in and see if there are improvements.

After these steps, i confirmed the fix by turning off the Xbox twice and attempted to recreate the issue.

Seems to have worked for me.

    Hope it helps... ;-)

Finally a solution better than unplugging my xbox every time I turn it on.

Hi all, hitting the same issue with Kinect Sports Rivals.

Maybe 1 in 3-4 insertions and the game plays for me. Kids have never managed to get the disc to work. They have parental permissions appropriate to the game (content up to 12).

Tried the clearing persistent storage suggestion, but this hasn't fixed the issue.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, one of my kids has found putting the disc into the Xbox One, then turning it off, then turning it on again, and the disc will load for them.

This doesn't seem to have fixed the problem, but at least they can start it when I'm out the house.

I got this error code and the same message for strictly digital download games. I literally lost 7 games and a season pass.

Hey there, Gamegry! This error code can be outage related, or it could be that someone had your console set to their Home console and they switched that. This thread is over a year old. If you need further assistance, please post up a new thread detailing
what you're running into and troubleshooting you've completed. This way our community can get you the individual support that works best on the forums. 0x87de07d1 :)
