0x87c40000

Alright so basically the problem lies with getting access to my friends. I'm new to the xbox one world, so the thing I want to do most is connect with as many friends ASAP. But the problem is I can't search for any of my friends. When I go to the search
bar, and put in their gamertag, I'm shown the error 0x87c40000 and it says try again. But of course, the problem persists. Even when i was able to access the players I've recently played with, I wasn't able to add them as a friend because when i clicked add
as friend or even favorite, it gave me the same error code. Out of some random luck however, after many many failed attempts, I was able to search one friends account. It showed his page, i tried to add him and put him as a favorite, and it came up with the
error again. I clicked try again to be sent back to start all over again, and for some reason it added him as a friend when the window closed. Still, my problems persist concerning the friends page. I need some help Microsoft!

This is very concerning, and while the Microsoft Smart Glass app helps we need this solved quickly. This seems to be related to the current xbox live service alert but I'm not entirely sure. It could be something else. Please help us.
