Hello, we receive the following message when we try to play a game. ' To play this, the owner needs to sign in. Alternatively, guests can play if the owner makes this their home Xbox ( 0x8240007).' This message doesn't appear when we try to play other
games. My profile is set to automatically sign on when the Xbox is turned on so we're confused as to why it's showing that the owner needs to sign on. Thank you!

Resident Evil 6 Game pass error

hey all,

Been playing RE6 before it leaves and am now running into trouble loading it. I keep getting the error 0x82d40007 "to play this, the owner must sign in"

Just checking to make sure it isn't already gone or if it's something else entirely

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

 

You can do this, You can also delete your profile and sig in with your profile again on your Xbox and see If It works

If you are the owner of the game, check to make sure the Xbox is set as the home. If not, set it. If the game is not yours, then the gamertag the was used to buy the game will have to set the console as the home. This happened to me with PUBG. I downloaded
it under my BF GT by accident and his GT is not set as the home console on the one in my living room, but it works when I sign him in, I can play the game.

 

To check to make sure its set as the home, go to settings, preferences. It will say at the bottom, this isnt my home Xbox if it is set as the home

 

Its not working and yiu guys dont have a number so j can call it and when ever i try to log in in my game that notfication shows up

As the error message states, do you actually own the game? This appears an error for a digital title, and the system isn't seeing the currently signed-in account as the one that bought the game. If someone was gamesharing this game with you by setting your
Xbox as their "Home Xbox", maybe they have recently changed their account password. You will need to have them sign on to your Xbox with their updated password, if this
is the case.

If you are indeed the owner of the game, then this could be a minor problem with profiles and licensing. You can try

removing your profile from the console, and re-adding it back.

I got this error when attempting to launch a game I thought I had purchased digitally. Turns out it was one of the rare few that I actually have a disc for. You would think the error would tell you to insert the disc instead of suggesting that it isn't
