0x80bd0009 Error

So My TV (Samsung QLED Model code QA55Q7FAM) was plugged directly via HDMI into my Xbox One X, and my slightly older Samsung Bluray player/5.1 receiver (model HT-H7750WM) was plugged into the ARC port on the TV. For the first month I had 5.1 sound, 4K and
HDR all green ticks, and it was all great working fine, completely happy.

Fast forward to last weekend and the sound just switched to stereo, Xbox One X would not let me change to 5.1 and kept popping up the error code 0x80bd0009

So after much forum reading and comments and replies decided this weekend to just suck it up and spend more money on a new Soundbar with 4k pass through which would have HDCP 2.2 and allow me to run the Xbox direct. Set it all up console>HDMI>Sound bar>HDMI>TV.
But still have stereo sound and still getting the error code.

I've read else where on the forums that this isn't an Xbox issue, this is a TV issue, but I can find evidence of it happening with and non Xbox device. Is there ANY fix for this? Or have I poured a ton of money into a technology
upgrade that is never going to work as intended?

Dolby Atmos and LG OLED 55C7V

Bad audio issue: Tv LG OLED 55 c7v, Xbox One X getting error 0x80bd0009 while trying to select dolby atmos for tv or headphones. All other audio-video options are perfeclty working (for example I can select Dolby Surround or DTS Surround bitstream).

Any help?

 

Just add the Sound bar is also Samsung, the MS750 Series 7

 

Hello, i had the same problem with my HDMI home-theater, i couldn't get HDMI sound passtrough 5.1 (error 0x80bd0009) probably due to 4K resolution. I found a solution so i hope it could help you, it just need to be configured first in manual 1080P, it's
just a bug of the autodetect resolution mode that almost never works for passthrough sound even in 1080p now. First you need to switch in display and sound TV connection from Auto-detect to HDMI. Then you'll have a poor resolution. You'll have to switch to
1080P and then accept all the options available on the right for games and apps, don't forget to select : Allow 4k. When you'll have done this you'll need to go in audio output and select under speaker audio HDMI audio and 5.1 passthrough (or 7.1 depending
on your home-cinema). Here you shouldn't get the error code (0x80bd0009). Then you'll just need to get back to Display and sound and go back to Automatic HDMI resolution. It worked for me as i was getting the same error for month, after upgrade, while at first
it worked perfectly with the same material. Hope this will help you! Bye.

I'm going through the same frustrating process of trying to get 4k and HDR while also getting Dolby Atmos sound but I can't seem to get one without the other not working. Once I've done the step you mentioned changing to 1080p and accepting all the options
including 4k the problem im having is it doesn't highlight the option to allow HDR also. Instead its detecting to allow 3D but my tv is not a 3D tv. Like you said it's just a bug of the autodetect resolution that before I was able to bypass but it took so
much trial and error that I don't remember the steps. What I'm thinking is that this might be a new type of bug. If there is any other steps I might have missed I would appreciate it immensely. Hopefully Xbox can work to resolve this issue too.
