    0x803F9006 vs Family


    I have xbox, xbox live gold, my son is configured as family member on main Xbox. From Microsoft say, he should be in a position to launch games I allow him to even when I am not logged in.

    Fact is launching Fortnite, I get 0x803F9006 error indicating I need to be logged in. For me it is not secure since being logged allows my son to play my games.

    Moreover it is not possible to transfer the licence to my son so that I spent my money for a game he can't even play.

    sign in with the profile used for purchase, (i am) or buy a copy.... (i cant even buy the game twice

    So I answer to myself in case it could help someone else. Contacting support by chat, I could discuss with the French technical Support ( I am French by the way ) . It comes that this issue is related to some cache data going bad for some reason, the xbox
    just need to be cleaned and the cleaning process, you won't guess it.

    - Remove all accounts from Xbox

    - restart the console

    - Parameters / bluray - Persisting storage - Empty persisting storage

    - Parameters / network - Go Off line for 30s then connect again

    - Parameters / network / advanced / Mac : remove

    - Switch off the console

    - Remove cables

    - connect cables again

    - add the profiles

    - play

    Honestly, I strongly suspect removing / adding profiles is enough but fact is I followed this procedure and now I don't have to log anymore for my son to play his game. I have to say it was an unexpected end as I was pretty sure it has to do with the game
    itself.
